Relinquish the weighty ego, to ascend high in spirituality!
Ego will drag us down!
Become feather like to ascend high!
Man is not an isolated being in the world. He is one with nature, cosmos and creation. He depends largely on nature and others for his existence, but thinks him as an independent entity. Awareness can make him understand his reality that he is fully dependent. Many in the world may claim that they are ‘self-made’ and none helped them to rise. This is fallacy. Without parents, how he came? Without suckling by the mother and feeding, how he has grown up. How he is protected from harsh weather without his asking! Even insects and birds feed their young and take care of them till they find their way for survival. Hence, it is a mere prattle, if somebody says he is independent. In fact, there is none independent in the world except god.
God is the single entity who has none to depend, and hence he is the Prime invisible base. He is self-existent, whereas others are created or born in the middle. God is there from the beginning and there were none other except god. In fact, the world of creation originated from him and hence, it is believed that everything that exists is part of his will and they are not different from him. A baby born out of the mother derives its all from the mother only. From the egg, it has grown as a fully-fledged baby by the sustenance from mother’s womb only. In the womb, it is part of the system of mother. Only after coming out, it needs to be protected through breast milk and warmth of the mother! While in the womb, it was sustained by the food and nutrients, the mother consumed. The blood supply and oxygen are from the mother only and even the waste is excreted through the mother only.
After growing up, a young man may boast, “I am independent and self-made and I can stand on my own leg. It is pride which makes him to announce that. The society supplies him with the wherewithal of existence and he never thinks about the contribution made by others for his existence.
In a similar manner, some leaders may boast that he is supreme. Unless the people put their confidence in him, how he can claim superiority? It is the taxes collected forcibly from the gullible public; he maintains himself and his entourage. The security guards protect him from enemies. He himself assumes himself as supreme but he is not aware of public sentiments. Nowadays, there are many who claim that they are ‘invincible’. It is the biggest joke of the year. Externally, he may protect himself by living in forts and underground chambers. But none knows when death will assault him and in what form? It may also come in the form of diseases of the body! For ordinary ailments, he may get medicines from the doctors. But the diseases acquired during the course of his ascension as supreme leader will haunt him in the end. We have heard that many dictators in the world have committed suicide since they were surrounded by enemy troops and they cannot move out.
The central theme is, ‘however much one is powerful, he has to fall to diseases and die ultimately. Alexander the Great was a clear example. He defeated many nations in wars but when he tried to enter India, he was suddenly laid up with a deadly fever. He knew that his end was nearing. He asked his close attendants, ‘to carry him with arms raised up? When enquired by his close aids, why he chose to go in this way, he replied, ‘I have conquered many countries but while going, I have nothing in my hold” To show the world, that nothing is going to accompany us in the end, Alexander chose the way. If you observe the sages and highly advanced saints, they are humble to the core and never breed the ego. Hence they are always in bliss supreme. We have seen that weighty things cannot ascend up. Hence to position the satellites high up in the space, high powered rockets are used to carry the satellites beyond the gravitational pull of earth.
In a similar manner, the sages and saints raise their conscious high up by relinquishing their ego and selfishness. Thus they could ascent to the highest plane of existence, which is Divine! Hence if one wants to ascend spiritually, he has to shed much of his weight which constitute his desires and attachments, ego and selfishness1
