The Prison Called Religion

Updated on September 25, 2014
Religion: the prison of the mind
Religion: the prison of the mind

If the Son shall set you free . . .

‘This was the Holy Spirit's way of showing with a visible parable that as long as the large tent stands, people can't just walk in on God.’ – Hebrew 9:8 (MSG)

When men mapped out a supposed way to the Almighty, having some rules and regulations that satisfy their uprightness then was religion birthed. In religion, the man at the top holds others responsible for breaking the laws of which he himself is not innocent. The harlot church system is so concerned about religion and is bent on keeping its people together, even when God commands them to go into all nations.

It is unfortunate that the harlot church system is having her way among the people; giving them the juice of religious anesthetics so as to keep them bound in a prison called religion. Truly, as long as large tent (harlot church system) stands, people can not walk to God, not to talk of knowing Him as individuals. But the good news is that the ‘church age’ is speedily passing away. This ‘strange’ truth is diffusing strongly among many people, I read recently a hub titled, ‘Yearning for a churchless city.’ Nothing can stop this progressive truth; the ecclesia is marching in unto God.

On our way to the Promised Land (fullness of the spirit), many beloved like Rachel, are carrying with them Laban’s idols, known today as the traditions of the fathers. Howbeit, we must choose between the truth of what God says in His Word and what man has put together in his natural mind and pass off as facts for many generations.

Jesus once told the Jews that believed on him that, ‘If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free’ -John 8:31 – 32

Half-truth is more dangerous than that which is false, and there is nothing that easily enslaves one as half-truth. It is the mother of all religions, the fig leaves covering alternative to God’s mercy (Genesis 3). It seems good to the Lord Jesus that we put together all Laban’s idols that we have ignorantly taken with us and defended religiously; exposing them without fear for what they really are – Lies!. If you fail to get rid of your religious coverings, you might not be clothed with the truth. When you bury these idols, their prison gates shall be opened, and then you can experience God without a middleman.

WORSHIP: This is a summation of 2 words i.e. Worthy + Lordship

Going through the bible, hardly can we find this word associated with music of Keyboard, Guitar or Mass Choir. Read Exodus 34:8, Mark 5:6, Acts 24:14, John 4:24, Revelation 5:14, etc. I am not saying we should take good music away from worship, but worship is not contained in music. To God, worship is the awesome reference of His Name and Nature.

Sometime ago, I received a paper through the post from Elaine Cook, titled ‘Teach me to worship’. The content goes like this: ‘As I was praying, I was very conscious of my inability to pray with words fitting my Maker. I prayed, ‘Lord, teach me to worship you acceptably.’ Much to my joy, He answered:

§ When you accept whatever situation you are in without murmuring, you are worshipping Me.

§ When you can rejoice in Me in the midst of your infirmities, you are worshipping Me.

.

§ When I have brought pressures to bear upon you to bring out the gold of My nature and you bear them patiently – blaming not Me, nor another person, nor yourself, then you are truly worshipping Me.

§ When you can ‘forgive yourself’ for your weaknesses and failures and cease expecting your human nature to bring forth perfection, you are worshipping Me.

§ When you have come to the place of recognizing and acknowledging that ‘of myself I can do nothing’, then do I have praise of thee.

§ When you can look upon a wasted life and agree that I can and will make this one every whit whole – that this is My desire – then you have offered Me true worship, for you have seen My true nature!

§ When you look upon My natural creation and the beauty of it and magnify Me, then I am worshipped.

§ When you hear My word within you saying, ‘This is the way – walk ye in it,’ and ye obey My word with rejoicing, I feel worship from thee.

§ When you look with compassion upon one who is afflicted, tossed, and broken, then I am worshipped.

§ When you recognized My Body and honor them as My brethren, this is true worship unto Me.

§ When thy lips are silent because of your pain, and you lift your heart to Me, I feel your worship.

§ When you say, ‘I cannot – please help Me!’ then I am worshipped.

Worship is a heart attitude in every place and situation in which you find yourself. It acknowledges My Lordship, the righteousness of My nature, the truth of My word, and the reality of My indwelling presence. You may offer true worship at all times and in every situation by keeping your heart right toward Me and toward your fellow – man.’

Religion has taught us to entertain ourselves with good music all in the name of worship that is being led mostly by talented people with no gift of the spirit or His fruit. If this is worship, what then happens to those with terrible voices and those can not play any music? According to this idol, they stand no chance to ‘worship’ Jehovah.

The truth is that God is not looking for those who will worship Him with voices and music, but in spirit and in truth.

SUBSTITUTION: ‘That he by the grace of God should taste death for every man’ (Hebrew 2:9), ‘the just for the unjust’ (I Peter 3:18), ‘He bore our sins’ (I Peter 2:24) what are these scriptures saying. The key is in 2 words FOR and INSTEAD. Christ died FOR us, but He did not die INSTEAD of us. Contrary to what religion is teaching us, Christ did not die as our substitute, but as our companion, and associate, and NOT instead of man, but with him and FOR him. This half – truth of substitution has made many Christians lazy and weakling, not ready for any challenges in life. Why did Jesus ask us to carry our cross and follow Him (Luke 9:23)? The example that a Teacher gives for his students is no substitute for their examinations. They will still write their own. Jesus has shown us the Way; we still have to walk in the Way. This idol must be buried under the Oak tree, like Jacob did.

REPENTANCE:

Do not call upon the sinner to turn unto God in order that he might be redeemed. Declare unto him first full redemption. Make that the ground and the reason why he should turn to God.

The sinner is not redeemed because he repents, but he is called upon to repent because he has been redeemed. This same thought is expressed by Isaiah to his people: ‘I have blotted out, as thick cloud, thy transgressions, and as a cloud thy sins; return unto Me, for I HAVE redeemed thee (not return unto Me and I WILL redeem thee, but, because I HAVE redeemed thee). – Isaiah 44: 22 – 23

Did God asked the whole world to repent first before sending Jesus Christ to die for our sin and sins? This idol is a giant among others, a big pillar of our religious system. Where Grace and Truth abounds, Law has no chance. This idol will not make it to the PromiseLand.

Time and space will not permit me to mention many others like offerings which the system takes by seductions, manipulations, begging, and sometimes by threats. Freewill offerings are no more relevant to the harlot church. Even when God asked us to take our Tithes to Levites (Pastors), Widows, Orphans & Strangers (Missionaries), the harlot church taught us to take our tithes only to Pastors. Hence, some of these pastors are overfed and they kicked against the Rock that made them. That Widows, Orphans and Missionaries members are suffering in the midst of a multi – billion dollarsChurch organizations is a proof of the evil system.

At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest. ‘– Deuteronomy 14:28 – 29

Religion is a prison system that rarely set its captives free. In many cases, it always presents itself as an alternative to the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Beware!

‘Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.’ – Galatians 5:1

God ordained your salvation, finished with the Blood of Jesus and sealed by the Holy Spirit. In this is your praise. Walk in this truth!
