The Sword or Love?

It’s brother against brother
But I don’t understand
We all need one another
Must we refuse another’s hand?
There will be no peace
Instead there will be a sword
To sow division among us
To choose man or the Lord
You said you can’t play any longer
It is time to receive his gifts
But you open them alone
Because of our private rifts
To love thy neighbor
As you love yourself
You must not judge
In sight of the cross on your shelf
A baby was born
And Kings bowed
Now you ask the same of me
Questions are not allowed
You retreat behind the wall
Of an earthly compound
Instead of God’s will
Only insanity makes a sound
I will accept the blade
Into my heart that cannot rest
He made me this way
Can’t a father’s son be blessed?
There is no answer for your zeal
Our children wonder aloud
When will Daddy come back?
Will Mommy come down from her cloud?

It would appear that in today's world any kind of love is a bitter sweet sword. :)
