The Wonder of Existence

Updated on May 31, 2012

I Am Spirit

One day I was in deep meditation focusing on silence and clearing my mind opening my heart to the positive energy in nature. I could feel the warmth of the sun shining on my face and I could hear the wind blow ever so softly. Then my mind started to drift, wondering, how do I exist. I know from studying scriptures and writings of mystics and other intellectual beings, that I am not the body. OK so I am not the body, I am the spirit soul! That sounds great, but what does that really mean? We have been taught that the soul is eternal, full of bliss and knowledge.

I started to go within my mind deeper, with my eyes closed now in the darkness of my mind. The ancient system of knowledge informs us that we are comprised of earth, air, water, fire, ether, mind, intelligence, false ego and spirit. I could relate to the eight on a practical level, but the ninth element is an elusive concept to firmly grasp. Then my logical mind started to take over because I wanted an answer to the question of the spirit.

The elements that comprise the human beings get more subtle as we progress, yet the last element the spirit is the oldest of the elements. The spirit is what brings about life according to the ancient ones. The spiritual spark initiates life in the body. Now the spirit is eternal, according to the scripture so it must be older than the planets and the suns and the stars. I thought that make sense. Stars are formed by neuclar fusion, when their core reaches its critical mass. The stars in turn then produce the planets and the planets then house the life of the different beings, this is what we observe.

So the next logical question was where was my spirit before all of this took place. Since the spirit is eternal I must have existed as some other spiritual being ain a different location and form until the condition was just right for my most wonderful and glorious birth. :). Ok now I have to analyze the cosmos.

Collection of stars make up galaxies and all the galaxies make up the cosmos. Now, it would take time for the galaxies to form, because the stars would have taken time to be born and moved into position. the the galaxies would have to find their relative position so we could observe the miracle called life that we are living now.

Now I begin to think God, is credited with creating the universe. Was my spirit with the God's spirit in the begining, it must be so, if the spirit is truly eternal. The cosmos had to get created and My spirit had to be in some kind of waiting room. We are told that we are part and pacrel of God. That means that we have the same qualities, but not the quantity, and all spiritual beings are unique and special.

My mind started to get flooded with all these thoughts and questions. What is God, the cosmos, nature, loave, truth, mind etc. I would try to answer all the questions in my mind based on all my studies, and experiences. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. The miracle is we exist, we will never know until it is time to know, just be happy and relax. :)

Ok I thought, that is what I will do.
