The gift of humor
My daily goal
Every day my goal is to make people smile and laugh. I take this goal seriously, as I would any important goal whether it is completing a project on time or taking care of my health. When I make someone smile or laugh, I feel like I've accomplished a great deed.
Humor is like a religion
For me, humor is like a religion. Religion provides you a way to live your life. Humor provides you a good and healthy way to live your life. It is one of the ways that I live my life. Religion strengthens your spirit and helps you do good in the world. Humor strengthens your spirit and does good in the world.
Who I got my love of humor from
My dad loved comedy. His greatest joy was making people laugh. When he did, he looked like and felt like he won the lottery.
Many of my childhood memories are of listening to comedy records with my dad. He always told jokes, acted out jokes, and watched comedians on TV. Comedy was a way of life for him and I am glad I inherited that love. He saw the world through a lens of humor. He told me many times, "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone."
Throughout my life, I believed in the power and importance of humor. It really became apparent to me after my dad passed away in 2011. Everyone told me how they appreciated my dad making them smile and laugh. I decided then that making people smile and laugh would become my goal.
People are stressed and always in a rush running from one appointment to another. Some face daily financial challenges, others feel their rights and beliefs are being challenged, and many feel that they are not appreciated. It only takes a minute to make someone smile and laugh. Humor and its effects are priceless!
