The many reasons religion is becoming obsolete

I came across several people from different religious affiliations, and I only have a thing to say, "they will fight to until death just to defend their religious faith." I am not here to judge that they were right or wrong, that they were moral or immoral, or that they were faithful or fanatics. Hinduism as the world's oldest religion or others say it is a philosophy, or a culture gave us the mantra and the way to inner peace. Buddhism came from Buddha "the enlightened one" who gave us the deeper meaning of life, death, and existence. The Jews, however, claimed that Judaism is the oldest religion and the mother of Christianity and Islam. The concept of heaven and all human beings can share eternal life in heaven. In Christianity, the follower has to believe in Jesus teachings to go to heaven so with Islam with their belief in Mohammad for a Muslim can go to heaven,

Taoism is an indigenous Chinese religion and philosophy teaching about movements and tranquility of the mind and body. Zoroastrianism has the concepts of one God, judgment, heaven and hell likely influenced the major Western religons of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This religion also claimed to be the oldest religion in the world.

Our world today faces industrial revolution. Modern technology starts subsituting the traditional practices that men were accustomed to do. In several developed countries, the focus of the people geared toward economic growth and development. In developing countries the concentration is the political power. The advent of information technology and space exploration is slowly invalidating many religious belief on the power of Being that is out of this world.

Materialism makes mankind a slave of things that can satisfy their cravings for power, pleasure, and wealth. It is a philosophical monism that believes in matter as the primary substance in nature including consciousness and mental sensations came from material interactions. Materialism gives happiness and sense fulfillment. Sex is an expression of deep appreciation of the physical nature of human beings.

Pleasure, desire, and power are dominating the virtues of men nowadays. Religious teachings and philosophies are always challenged while some groups of people totally abandon them. Wealth generation and more money accumulation are trending in the life of a modern man.

The world today is full of aggravating social issues of man's inhumanity to his fellow men. The world's natural environment that should give peace and tranquility to the senses of men are slowly decaying. Those religions in our world kept preaching about their belief, but practicing their faith is nowwhere to be found. If only those world religions can effectively rectify humanity's disregard for life, I firmly believe that we still have a better world for the next generation.
