Understanding comes from God....
Revelation by His Spirit.
To understand the Truth of God's word, one must receive divine revelation. When one comes to faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ and is baptized, this new believer experiences what many have come to know as being born again. It is through this rebirth that one obtains the ability to understand and receive revelation of who God is, as well as the meaning of His word along with the intent for the believer.
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power," Ephesians 1 :17-19
Know the Truth.
When a believer comes to faith and begins to understand God's word there life begins to change. This change can be described in many ways, but is better to be left for the experience of the individual because the results all vary. In this transformation so to speak, one can begin to make sense of things that they may have had complications trying to understand previously, along with the help of the Holy Spirit.("Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you." John 14:16)
The many hidden things that others do not understand, can and will be revealed to those God chose to reveal them to.. In relationship with Him that is He shares secrets with His friends..
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and will show thee great things, and difficult, which thou know est not." Jeremiah 33:3
"Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory" Ephesians 1:26-27
