Venus in Leo Explained

Updated on September 18, 2011

The truest "love sign" in astrology revolves around Venus. Where this planet was when you were born will explain your love style. Other aspects of your natal chart influence this as well, but Venus is the Goddess of Love and this is her thing, so if you were born with Venus in Leo, your romantic side will reflect Leo energies, regardless of what your sun or moon signs are. And hey, there are worse placements for Venus, believe me... Leos are fairly difficult to resist, you know! So sit back and have a read to learn more about your heart and how it operates.

Prowling Romanticists

Venus in Leo is very adept at pursuing someone they are attracted to. They are great hunters when it comes to such things and there really is no point in trying to outmaneuver them once they've made up their mind to have you. They will shower you with affection and attention at every corner and they will bowl you over with that famous Leo charm. These folks will really work to win you over and few people are strong enough to resist their charms. (In the beginning, at least!) One might even think they are more in love with the chase than anything else, but that's not true. Leo Venus is very capable of being loyal and sticking with their partner for the long term, so don't let that sort of thing put you off falling in love with one of them.

Emotional vs Physical Love

In short, Venus in Leo doesn't really see a difference between the two. Love, tenderness and the physical expression of these emotions all go hand in hand and there is no way to properly distinguish between them. Therefore, if one area is lacking, it will affect everything in their minds and they will start to worry that the whole thing has gone pearshaped. If they feel neglected physically, they will automatically equate that with being neglected emotionally. There are other signs who have difficulty separating these two as well, but none to the same degree as Leo. Therefore, it's important that Leo have a mate who shares a similar view and places equal importance on all forms of demonstrative love, whether it be physical or emotional or otherwise.

That Famous Ego

There's no point in denying it, Leo has the biggest ego in the zodiac. And that's not to say they aren't deserving of it, but they could all benefit from a course in humility. Most of us recognize their wonderfulness, but we don't necessarily want to hear them go on about how wonderful they are. These folks will constantly remind you of how fantastic they were last night, how many people flirted with them at the supermarket today (this is supposed to make you feel lucky that you've got them all to yourself!), how knowledgeable they are about goings in the boudoir compared to every single one of their contemporaries, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. It can be annoying, to say the least. Unfortunately, they are unlikely to ever outgrow this, but it does tend to decrease with age. The best advice for dealing with the Leo ego is to remember they don't really mean to be so arrogant -- that, and just let it go in one ear and out the other!
