Which are you, the talker, or the walker?
I am sure we have all met the type haven’t we? You know the ones that can quote a verse from the Bible in a blink of an eye. They are the first to point a finger at everyone else’s shortcomings and quote from the Bible to prove it. We all also know that it does not take much digging to find a lot more dirt in their lives. When we point that out to them they quickly reply that we are misinterpreting the Bible. They are the biggest curse upon Christianity. I can tell you, I have seen them in their last days. They died very lonely and sad.
When I was a teenager there were a few of these scums that drove me away from the church and Christ. It took me almost thirty years before returning to Christ and a church. They will be the type that when they stand before Jesus proclaiming how good they were He will deny knowing them. Please do not be like that.
Instead I choose to walk the walk. Every morning my prayers are for the Holy Spirit to open my eyes on how to serve Jesus today. Many people have asked me why I am always happy and so nice to people. What a great way to witness to Jesus. Those people will be much more interested in listening to you than to the Bible thumpers. In so doing you are proving to others the way to serve Jesus and lead others to Him. That is the best job in the world. Your rewards will be out of this world.
Prayer: My loving Father, please always open my eyes in how to serve others and in so doing, to serve You as well. Please guide my heart and my actions this day to bring glory to Your name and to bring the lost sheep to You. In Jesus’ sweet name I pray. Amen.
