Beach Baseball Explains

Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the world but there are very few people who have heard of beach baseball before.  There are actually not that many differences between beach and regular baseball.  It’s an intense and challenging game that requires focus and skill, and while regular games are played on a baseball diamond there are now also beach baseball games.  The most major difference is that a beach baseball game is played on the beach rather than on a baseball diamond but other than that the rules and regulations all remain the same.

One of the greatest benefits of playing baseball on the beach is that players have more room to play.  It’s also a lot more exciting during the summertime when the weather is warm and everyone wants to head to the beach.  Now it’s no longer a matter of having to decide whether to go practice baseball or go to the beach because now you can do both.  The rules are all the same between games played on the beach and regular games on a baseball diamond.

All the same equipment is needed for these games, and it’s important to make sure that your team is fully equipped.  Gloves are important because they help to protect the hands of the players.  When you’re throwing and hitting at balls for hours it can certainly wear down on the hands and even cause blisters.  You will need balls and bats as well.

Different sized bats can be used, and smaller players especially will need to have proper sized bats for their body type.  Just make sure bats are no longer than 42 inches long and 2 ¾ inches in diameter as this is maximum regulation size.  Some players and especially pitchers often like to have padding.  Pitchers especially benefit from using this gear on their throwing arm to prevent it from getting so sore from pitching an entire game.

Beach baseball is not a new idea but one that people are just starting to really get into.  It’s a lot of fun and mixes it up a bit from your regular baseball diamond games.  You will want to go to the beach ahead of time and plan.  Make sure that there’s a designated spot for baseball games or otherwise speak to the authorities of the beach to make sure that it’s okay to head there for a game.
