Camp Nou Experience
The Camp Nou Experience is the official tour of the football stadium of FC Barcelona.
The Camp Nou stadium is located in Barcelona, Spain and is home to one of the most famed football clubs, FC Barcelona. The stadium is located at Carrer d'Aristides Maillol and one can reach here by getting down at Collblanc Metro Station on Line 5.
FC Barcelona is often said to be "more than a club" with its rich values and history. It was founded in 1899 by a group of Catalan, English and Swiss footballers.
On reaching the stadium, one can either buy tickets directly from the various vending machines or from the ticket station at a cost of EUR 22.
The tour begins with a rich display of the club's history on multimedia screens in the chronological order, with each era of the club carefully illustrated. On the sides, there are trophy cabinets which are overflowing with trophies and proves that it is one of the most successful football clubs ever. The club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism and hence the motto of the club, "Mes que un club" or "more than a club".
Then comes the walk through the tunnel which leads up to the pitch. Standing next to the team bench, one can only admire the sheer size of the stadium. What follows is a climb up to the Broadcasting Box which is close to a 7 floor climb up the steel ladder - definitely one of the most tiring part, but worth the climb. One can take the lift as well or choose to skip this part of the tour but the view from the top of the stadium is quite unique.
Next is the FC Barcelona Museum.
The rich history of Barca is topped by this amazing stadium. Its seating capacity is over 98,000 and is certainly one the biggest stadiums in the world. Post seeing the pitch and stadium view from up the stands, one can visit the press room and the team changing rooms.
A huge 35 metre screen (only one of its kind in the world) is also laid where one can sit and see the best images/videos of Barca's famous football moments - certain to give you those goose bumps. There is a corner in the museum with a number of headphones hanging, where one could listen to "El Cant Del Barca" or The Song of Barca. The wall in front has this song translated into various languages.
The tour closes with entry into the FCB Botiga Megastore.
After a rich and enchanting tour which lasts close to 120 minutes, one is left spellbound with the phenomenon called FC Barcelona - more than a club.
