Catching Bass Fish-Some Tips
How To Catch Bass Fish-Just A Few Pointers
If you are looking for one of the most popular types of fishing then you should be talking bass fishing. Bass can be found all over the world in all different types of water. When we say almost everywhere we mean lakes, ponds, rivers, creeks and reservoirs. If you are interested in having successful fishing trips then there are some basics you really should understand. The two biggest are conditions and places.
There are things that we need to watch that in many cases are out of our control. Some of these are conditions of water, levels of water, weather, light and what’s around for the fish to feed on. Food, oxygen and cover are the three things bass need in the water in order to survive in the place they are living.
One thing that seems to be a common almost anywhere you go is the fact that crawfish are a bass fish’s favourite food. The big thing with crawfish is they are everywhere and very easy for the bass to catch. While bass love crawfish there are a number of other things they will eat as well. These are rats, mice, ducks, worms and just about anything else. The fact that bass will eat almost anything has a lot to do with why anglers love catching them so much.
When looking for bass fish oxygen is something else that does need to be considered as well. As we have all learned that there is a simple little formula. There will be more oxygen in cooler water. What this tells us is that especially when it comes to the bigger fish you need to look for them where the oxygen is. Like in the summer when it is really hot out you may want to look for the fish in deeper cooler water.
Another thing the bas fish may do is swim and hangs out around vegetation. They do this to find better sources of oxygen. Almost anything under the water will be a good source of oxygen. That’s why on all the bass fishing shows you will see the fisher people fishing around cover. Bass are very close to cover under the water. To them it is always a way to stay protected but also a place to attack food as well.
When it comes to surviving a basses favourite word is cover. When we talk about lazy fish we are defiantly talking about bass fish. It’s not too often they go in search of food, instead they just hide and wait for the food to come to them. There is another important reason that cover is so important and that is because the bass would go blind because they have no eye lids. You will not only find bass in natural cover but also manmade cover such as docks, fences and even pilings drilled into the water. In some cases it is even documented that fish will hide under pieces of wood that are floating on the surface.
A great place to go bass hunting at any time is in the weeds as well. Finally the last place that bass find cover around is rocks. For the most part rocks aren’t any where as good of cover as weeds or wood. However once in a while the bass will hide in and around the rocks that may have wood stuck in them. The biggest thing when it comes to rocks is there is no way they can produce oxygen which once again is what’s most important to bass when looking for cover. Of course when it comes to fishing for the guy who catches all his bass in and around the rocks would beg to differ in the theories I am talking about. Of course we will find different opinions in different areas. This will all depend on the fishing areas and what people are doing to catch fish.
There are certain lures that certain people say will work anywhere you go fishing for bass fish. The thing is you have to get off your butt and try them. Worms with added scents do seem to work almost anywhere you decide to toss a line. Another thing to consider is big isn’t always better. Almost all bass fisher people will testify that you do not need big lures or big baits to catch the big fish.
Finding the perfect spot to catch bass can really be an art that takes years and years to perfect. You can follow advice of others but ultimately it will be up to you to see what works best for you. The one constant with bass is you will rarely see them moving with any speed. They really don’t cover much area when they make quick movements. The hungriest, biggest bass could be sitting 20 feet away from you in clear waiter and you would probably never catch it. The reason and only reason for that is because bass are so lazy and they just are not interested in putting out effort to eat. There really is no exact spot when it comes to finding bass fish. A lot of luck really does go into bass fishing.
The only thing you have any control over is fishing is the places that the fish are most likely to be. It really is all about patience and some days you need a lot of it. Another big factor when it comes to bass fishing is paying close attention to the weather. Like many other fish like walleye you will probably have more luck on an overcast day as compared to a hot sunny day. Another thing is overcast will likely produce the best conditions when it comes to oxygen as well. The thing you need to decide is if you are willing to sit through yucky weather to catch fish. At the end of the day you can only put the information to work and see what happens when it comes to comes to catching more bass fish.
Just remember even when it comes to catching Bass Fish a bad day of fishing is still better then a good day at work.
