How to Get Rid of Mosquitoes

Every summer you probably ask yourself how to protect your family from the mosquitoes around your house.

Some of the kids are even allergic to mosquito bites and need special care, not to mention the risk of being infected with mosquito related diseases like Malaria and West-Nile-Virus.

Here are 3 useful tips to help you get rid of mosquitoes and their bites:

1. The basic and useful method to get rid of mosquito bites is to put screens around our house openings and/or mosquito nets around our beds (or tent while camping). Still, although the mosquito net will prevent the mosquitoes from reaching our body, they can still sense us inside it!

Thus, they will wait near the net and bite us as soon as we wake up. One should also consider that if few mosquitoes managed to get inside you are in big troubleā€¦

2. Did you know that the mosquito females attract to us mainly due to the Carbon Dioxide that accumulates around our body as we breathe? The good news is that a simple fan will do the trick! The air blow towards us will prevent the Carbon Dioxide cloud from accumulating.

Furthermore, mosquitoes normally hate moving air since they are poor flyers and in that case will look for other easier-accessed victims. You will also be able to sleep better under the fan breeze...

3. Most important, for best results you should always include mosquito repellents to win your fight against them. You can use personal repellents to spread on our exposed skin and/or aerial ones to establish mosquito-free nearby zone around you.

The best practice will be to use both, but if you have to choose one, personal mosquito repellents (natural or synthetic) are preferred for maximum protection. Mosquito traps can help too but only as a complementary mean to reduce the mosquito population around your home.
