5 Easy Basic Hairstyles for Work/ School
Hair
Hair can be a tough thing to handle, especially when you don't know how to wear it. There are so many different ways to style your hair, however, how can you style it without a professional doing it? There are so many complex braids; Fish tail, French, 4-strand, 5-strand, 6-strand, etc. Not only that but you can style those braids different ways, to the side, into a ponytail, and down your back. What if you are in a rush and need a quick hairstyle? These hairstyles are the most basic and easiest. The following styles need to be known by every girl out there. They are very common and are used very commonly among everyone.
The Simple 3 Strand Side Braid
Do you look like a mad scientist that just experienced an explosive experiment and don't have time to fix your hair? Now you don’t have to worry about it, just do a simple side braid. Instantly look like a celebrity, such as Taylor Swift who fabulously wore it in Paris, Rihanna at a ball, Jennifer Hudson, Selena Gomez, Alicia Keys, Kristen Stewart, Hilary Duff, and Beyoncé. It is an easy hairstyle that you can do anywhere; on a bus, at home, during a class, and even while you’re walking. Looking beautiful, seems like you have spent hours on your hairstyle, when in reality, you only spent a minute or two. You’ll simply need long hair and an elastic band. Let’s get started!
Before beginning, make sure your hair is combed and that it is knot-free. Begin by gathering your hair to one side, either the left or right. Then divide your hair into three sections, they should be evenly divided. Next, take the left and middle sections and twist them outward (twist them to the left). The outer piece, farthest from your body, should cross over the middle section of hair. Afterward, take the middle and right sections and twist them outward (twist them to the right). The outer piece that is closest to your body should cross over the new middle section. Continue to do this, taking the outer sections and the middle section and twisting. Then stop at the desired length of your braid. Finally, take an elastic band and tie the end of your hair.
Season after season, from winter to summer, designers have been sending braids down the fashion runway, making this simple braid on-trend for just about everyone with long hair. Whether it’s a fishtail, milkmaid, or flawless basic braid, however you slice it, braids are here to stay. Braids are carefree and enjoyable ways to dress up a casual day. Everyone, including your friends, your colleagues, your family, and maybe even your enemies will notice that one little thing about you that’s different; your beautiful hair! Side-braids are an enjoyable, effortless, and a commitment-free way to change up your hairstyle.
The "Front Poof"
This hairstyle really doesn't have a name so I decided to call it the Front Poof! This is really easy and pretty. It gives everyone that extra umph! It makes it seem that you have more volume and looks great with wavy hair. To do this hairstyle it is really quite simple. Just tie back you bangs or front few hairs and either tie or bobby pin it down. The tied hair should be centered on the top of you head. Meaning, if you have a side part, the two portions of hair that come together from each side to make this tied section have to be different sizes. The side on which you part your hair will have more hair when you are tying it back. Basically you pull the hair in the front back.(see picture below) This look is great for when you want your hair out of your face.
Bangs/ Front Few Hairs Braided to the Side
For this look, first, obviously, comb through your hair. Then, if you have bangs, take your bangs and part it from the rest of the hair. If you don't have hair, take the hair in the front and just part it from the rest of your hair. The hair section should be only about about 1 inch. Then begin to braid the small section, moving away from the face and toward the back of the head. Braid to the desired length and afterwards just bobby pin it down. To make it seem less "out there" you could bobby pin it down using a criss-cross method. Just pin one down in a diagonal fashion and place the other bobby pin so that the two together form an "X." This is a great hairstyle and I have seen so many celebrities wear it when going out. If you want the braids to look bigger, pull on the braid a bit and loosen a few strands of hair.
Two Side Braids on the Side of your Head
This hairstyle is basically a repeat of the one above but it is done on both sides. When done you just tie it in the back of your head! That was just the overview of this look. To go into detail, first, section off your hair so that you have a small section of hair in the front. If you have bangs then just grab your bangs. Braid the hair going away from the front of your face, so braid toward the back of your head. (See picture below) Pin it down on the back of your head. Repeat this step to the other side of your face. Just grab the first few hairs and braid away from your face. Then remove the pin from the braid on the other side and tie the two braids together. The biggest hassle for me is, throughout the day it becomes messy. It becomes really ugly because hair moves around and shuffles and doesn't stay to neat. But then, I tried to tighten it a bit more and it stopped messing up. Te hair under the two braids stopped lifting and shifting.
Curl Your Hair!
I know this is very simple and easy, but I just had to mention it. There are so many different option for size of the curls. If you go o a store, you can purchase a 1 inch wand, 1/2 inch wand, or a 3/4 wand. There are even more options then the ones listed but each are unique. To achieve beach waves try a one inch curler or 1 1/2 curler wand. This is so pretty for a special day or occasion. It is especially pretty to curl it and do the above mentioned styles or even just put it into a ponytail.
