Shaving Beauty Tip

Shaving Tips: If your skin isn’t sensitive, shave against the direction of hair growth for the smoothest results. If you’re new to shaving, trying a new look or tend to get red, itchy bumps, try shaving with the direction of hair growth. You won’t get as close of a shave, but it will be worth it. Most women do well by shaving first with the hair to remove the bulk of it, then against the grain to finish the job.

SHAVING YOUR BIKINI LINE

Shaving is the quickest and most affordable form of hair removal, but it is only a temporary solution. Shaving with a Razor is best when used on the legs, underarms but not my favorite spot for the bikini area.

It can cause cuts, irritations and more than any other method one too many ingrown hairs. Nasty red stubble appear in a day or two, depending on your hair’s growth rate. The upkeep of shaving your bikini line is daily. Though one can definitely incorporate shaving your private area into your daily routine it’s just not as easy as shaving your legs everyday.

HAIR INHIBITORS - DEPILATORY CREME
HAIR INHIBITORS - DEPILATORY CREME

DEPILATORY CREME – THE HAIR INHIBITORS

Depilatory creams are usually chemically based. When applied to the skin they attack the keratin in any hair shaft, allowing the hair removal to be just below the skin’s surface. While this is a very cost-effective and some find it to be easy to apply, the smell of this technique is enough to send me screaming. Depilatory cremes are somewhere in between waxing and shaving. Recommended for the upper lip, underarms, legs, bikini line or feet depilatory creme can slow hair regrowth to a bit slower than with razors. One of the best depilatory creams on the market is Nisim Kalo Hair Inhibitor Lotion Permanent Hair Remover.

Kalo Hair Inhibitors

Here we have a beauty product that is specially formulated to stop unwanted hair growth. Kalo is available in both a lotion and spray formulation. Many hair inhibitors will only slow hair growth, but Kalo hair inhibitor can stop unwanted hair growth for good. This an ideal alternative to shaving because it’s easy and inexpensive. And the up keep is even easier.

Smoothing Creme

After using a depilatory creme it is wise to a smoothing creme that compliments and completes. The latest buzz is about an ingredient called capislow. Look for a product that contains this plant extract, as it has shown that capislow inhibits hair regrowth by slowing down the metabolic activity involved in the hair’s growth phase. Though we’re skeptical of how well they work long-term, hair inhibitors do help soften coarse hair, making it easier and less painful to wax.

Waxing Your Bikini Line

Some will argue that waxing is the best way to remove the unwanted hair from the bikini area, but personally I think that waxing is the most painful way of removing hair, especially at the sensitive bikini area. A bikini wax is a temporary solution and can become very costly over time. The results last much longer than shaving, as the hair is removed by the root but not as long as a depilatory creme. Make sure you find one that is specifically for the bikini line or for several areas including bikini line. Make sure that you use hard wax! In my experience and those of the many others I know who also torture wax themselves, the soft wax is not a good idea for your bikini line (the skin is too sensitive and not taught enough). A natural or synthetic bikini wax that is warmed in a wax burner is the best way to execute this method. The wax will become glue-like and that is when it is applied to the area. A strip of cloth (usually cotton or linen) is applied to the glue, smoothed out and abruptly snatched off. It is snatched off in the direction of the hair, thus removing it from its root. This gives a smoother finish. Hair growth is also slower. But the pain. . ah the pain is something I could do without!

Womens Electric Razor

A quick and easy way to get your body bikini ready is to use an Electric razor like the Close Curves Wet/Dry Ladies from Panasonic are quick, easy and cause fewer cuts than do blade razors, but stubble appears in a day or two. And they may encourage ingrown hairs. Most electric shavers do not shave as closely as blade shavers. To minimize ingrown hairs, scrub gently with a damp loofah to remove dead skin, where curled hairs get trapped.
