Hello Kitty Handbag: My Black Friday Cyber Monday Shopping for Purses 2014
Take it from a guy, Hello Kitty handbags ARE actually kinda cute! I'm always amazed too see what catches on in women's and girl's fashion, but it doesn't surprise me that this cat has made a real impact. These handbags are available as totes, satchel bags, varieties of large shopping bags, embossed handbags, or as smaller round kitty-head-shaped quilted handbags. My special chick is kind of sophisticated, very sassy and quite intelligent - think Gucci, Madden, or Coach-- BUT I still know that these are handbags that she would love! She probably wouldn't want their luggage or little backpack (ha!), but she would totally use a subtle Hello Kitty handbag! Now I just have to pick one up on Black Friday or with some Cyber Monday deal. Actually online - -- that's more my style - I think I'm too scared to go handbag hunting for Christmas presents on Black Friday dawn! [To me that sounds like a movie!] Here's hoping that my sweetie doesn't read this before Christmas -- if I'm real prolific with my writing she can't possibly read them all and know about this Hello Kitty gift?
ABOUT HELLO KITTY
So Hello Kitty is a fictional character based on a Japanese bobtail cat with a red bow. The Japanese company Sanrio first used the character on a coin purse in the 1970s and then brought the items to the United States. Now this character can be found on everything from clothing to televisions, toasters to handbags. If you must know, the official character profile says that she is as tall "as five apples", and that she is good at baking cookies. And apparently she likes her art, music, and English classes in school. Ok, so perhaps the principal marketing is aimed at a younger shopper, but apparently Hello Kitty has an almost cult-like following among women of all ages!
So I'm sure I could get my sweetie one of the tote bags or large shopping bags that she could use when she goes to the grocery store or for a quick stop at the mall or a department store. But I think that would mean it would have to be something she leaves in her car all the time for opportunistic shopping. If I get her an actual Hello Kitty handbag it could be the casual kind of accessory she would take anywhere, or the more snappy stylish kind for a night on the town -- that's right -- for date night! Some of these purses or handbags seem sturdy enough for daily use but I prefer to get her something that she uses ocassionally, and when the mood strikes, so that it's not a shock to the system -- and it will last longer. It's kind of like the bold Italian designer house Missoni and their Target collection -- you just need a little jolt of color, but it can be gradual!
If I buy her an everyday bag, she has to decide if she likes the daily cat vibe. If I buy her a specialty bag, night out, once-in-a-while handbag she will probably see the possibilities! I like the Hello Kitty embossed handbags best because you see the signature bow, the cat is in the PVC, and the bag is deep and roomy with a cell phone pouch and more. Don't tell her that's on the short list for my Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping. I want it to be a surprise! :)
