Lace Panties

Updated on November 13, 2009

Nothing says “sexy” quite as well as a pair of lace panties. Many men would argue with this statement, for they feel that all women’s lingerie is sex personified. They do not need a particular type of panty in order to get them all hot and bothered. However, lace panties are definitely something special to women – and men – all over the world.

For the men who enjoy wearing women’s panties underneath their regular clothing, lace panties have that élan that women’s cotton briefs just do not seem to possess. Women and lace panties seem to go together naturally. There is a feminine edge to this type of lingerie that cannot be matched by any other, no matter what the garment is made from.

Lace Panties - types and styles

Lace panties are made by many lingerie designers in many popular styles and colours. It is important to know how to choose the proper size of lace panties. If you are wearing the size that is right for you, your lace panties will be so comfortable that you might not even realize that you are wearing them!

Lace panties are well known as being the type that fit the body’s shape beautifully and this is the type fit that most people are looking for. It is sometimes difficult to figure out just what size of lace panties are right for you. If you are choosing your panties from a brick and mortar shop, then you may be able to try the lace panties on if this is allowed.

Buying Lace Panties

If the idea of trying on underwear makes you squirm, you can always slip on the lace panties over the underwear you already have on. This will ease your mind, and should keep you from worrying about who may have tried on that particular pair of panties before you did. It is for this reason that many shops do not allow you to try on undergarments.

Buy Lace Panties Online

When you look online for lace panties, you are liable to see many more styles and colours than you would see at a local shop. Shopping for lingerie on the Internet is like searching the world for exactly the type of panty you want and need. There is a wealth of lace panties available online; so many that you may have a difficult time choosing just one or two pairs for yourself or a loved one. There are probably always going to be people who hesitate about purchasing lace panties from an online merchant. The main reason is that all-important issue of fit.

Those who are familiar with buying underwear from local shops have come to accept the fact that just because you wear a certain size in one designer or brand’s garments does not necessarily mean that you will wear that same size in lingerie made by a different company! So, how would you know what size of lace panties to purchase online?

Many women get around this somewhat tricky question by simply buying the brand and type of lace panties that they are used to wearing. Of course, this works very well, but what is a woman to do when she has spied a wonderfully frilly pair of lace panties that she just has to have, yet these panties are a different brand altogether than what is in her bureau drawer at home? She takes advantage of the detailed size chart that is hopefully a part of the web site where she is shopping!

Buying lace panties online while you are wearing your lace panties suddenly got a whole lot easier with the advent of the size chart. Some designers make their panties with a size that corresponds to a person’s waist measurement. Some panties are designed with the size determined by the hip measurement, and some are even sized according to what size pants a person wears. In order to make sure you are buying the best size of lace panties for you, you will definitely need your waist and hip measurements, along with the size of the best fitting pants that you own, in order to make sense of the size charts.

Caring for Lace Panties

Once you have purchased your lace panties and have them home, you will need to know how to take the best possible care of them so that they will last as long as possible. For best results, do not wash your lace panties in the washing machine, especially with other types of clothing or linens. Sheets and towels can cause a build up of lint balls on your lace panties if they are washed together.

You take a chance on a button or snap from different types of clothing being hung up in the lace, and hopelessly twisted to boot. This will generally tear a hole in your lace panties, either from the pulling and friction, or from your efforts in attempting to untangle the lace. Instead, wash your lace panties by hand in a gentle fabric wash made for cold-water washing. Generally, when washed in this substance, your panties will not need to be rinsed, which makes the washing process even quicker. Just soak the lace panties in the solution mixed with the proper amount of water for 10 or 15 minutes, and then gently squeeze out any excess liquid. Lace panties are easy to care for when you know how!
