Silver Accessories for Women: Accessories to Enhance Your Look Simply and Elegantly

Do you love fashion accessories especially silver accessories? As I went through my personal collection of jewelry, I realized most of my fashion accessories are mostly silver. Although I don’t wear jewelry often, silver accessories seem to have a certain appeal for me. I admit on special occasions when one needs to dress up, accessories add sparkle to my outfit and enhance the overall look.

But you know what? I never gave much thought about jewellery or accessories until this particular conversation occurred on a tour to China in Oct 2006. A family friend who happens to sell jewelry was my roommate. She must have been observing me closely because one day she blurted out, “You don’t like to wear jewelry, do you?”

"Why do you ask?” I was curious as to where the conversation was heading. She then explained that she used to visit my mother in our store and she would encourage my mom to buy jewelry for me. And my mom had said that I am not really fond of jewelries. I laughed out loud but something stirred within me. I was heartened by the fact that my mom noticed this seemingly insignificant detail. You see living far away from her, I didn't think she know me too well. I was wrong.

That particular day, I entered into a reflective mood as I thought why I wasn't particularly interested about jewelry. Did I think it was too flashy or did it clash with my personality? I don't know but I saw how I am through my mom's eyes and I decided to be more open about this.

What transpired after my reflection was this thought: "Maybe you should define what look would you want to create for yourself? Something that would resonate within you." And so I did! I decided that I wanted something simple yet elegant!

I realized I didn't necessarily have to be drown with jewelry to look good. And sometimes an accent here or there is more than enough. So here are some of the silver accessories I use on ordinary days and others on special occasions.

One of the accessories I usually wear is the bracelet even on ordinary days. The earrings I can do without or the necklace but I normally will choose a bracelet above all the other accessories. To create the simple and elegant look, I just mix and match my accessories.

If you look at my photo on the right, I was wearing a blouse that was closed neck. So I went for dangling earrings and a bracelet!

At this point, It is important to remember that you have to define your style. Browse through the internet or buy fashion magazines for inspiration. Observe women in formal attire or casual outfits and take note of their fashion accessories.

Take chances by experimenting. If you are unsure, try shopping with a friend. I did experiment with some flashy and fancy colorful jewelry, and it felt good doing so. But I always find myself choosing the simple and elegant kind of thing on most days. Oh well, but that's me!

To complete the overall look, I carry a silver handbag for special occasions like wedding or anniversaries. And of course, a silver watch to complement the bracelet.

• Body piercing jewelry

Hmmmm but I don't think body jewelry is for me. But I know of some people who look good in them.

SHOES

And of course, find the right shoes for the final touch. I can't say it will be silver shoes because it depends on the color of your dress.

Writing this made me realized that the main reason why I like silver accessories is because it is very flexible. It matches easily with varied colors from white, black, blue, violet, red outfits. My family and friends have probably noticed my silver accessories for they have included this in their gift list for me. Most of these are gifts!! Of course, this silver lovin' girl is having a blast and happily accepts them with joy and thankfulness!
