The Lost Art of Ironing

Updated on July 19, 2010

Who Was to Know?

Their Shared Secret

Remember those fifties T.V. shows where the wives all stayed home? They wore aprons and heels. Their hair was perfect and they were extra chipper! Who was to know they had a terrific secret!

That secret was IRONING!

How I Discovered Ironing

I'm not working this summer for a change. The weather in Anchorage yesterday was drizzly, and it wasn't a good day to venture out. So I decided to do some laundry. Next thing I knew I was watching America's Got Talent on T.V. and was ironing some of my husband's shirts.

Express YOURself

Well it turns out those fifties broads had a good thing going! T.V. ON, mind OFF, what a BLAST! God... what have I been missing?

By now, things were hopping! America's Got Talent. . . watch me iron! Dancing, ironing, ironing, dancing, trying not to burn myself or set anything on fire. Had to wonder what the poor wretches underneath our condo had to say about all the stomping going on above their heads.

I repeat....IRONING IS FUN! Please don't say, " This lady has no life that loudly!"

Here lies the problem with this "twitlet" of an article. It's going to have to be considered a "How To" article because there is no "Goofy" category in Hubspace.

Three More Text Capsules

By the way... I just added a whole bunch of text capsules and plan on using every one of them.

Take Photographs of Anything... hey

When I thought I had stooped low enough... then I started taking pictures of the ironed tee shirts and the ironing board. (This was because I never did figure out how to get the darned thing folded back up:(

You Too Can Discover the Lost Art of Ironing

Last capsule.. hooray for all of us!

After this experience, I do believe that those gals had the right idea. Their husbands loved their fresh shirts, and the wives loved ironing. So get out your irons girls and guys! You too can discover the lost art of ironing.

I have one major decision to make... is my newest hobby ironing.... or is it taking pictures of my feet? HMMM.........
