You can dress me up but I get to pick the tie.

Updated on March 4, 2016

Before going to work I will always tie one on - unless it's a business casual day, in which case no tie required.

You know your in trouble when the folks at the local thrift store reefer to you as the "Tie Guy". Follow that up with your wife saying you have too many ties. Why not hold off on purchasing any more for a while? Or the bottom drawer of your dresser is just filled with ties. How about people at work saying that you have the most unusual ties that they have ever seen? What if they were to have a unique tie contest and you have trouble deciding which one to use? Then go out and find a different one because they have seen all your other ties?

Yes your honor I am Guilty on all counts.

The image shown here is the one that I went out and won the unique tie contest with. Cost less then $3.00.

Bible Ties

So fare these are the only lies that I have paid full price for.

OK so there is on that wasn't but it is still a great tie.

Behold Behemoth
Behold Behemoth

Behemoth

This is my first bible tie and yes I paid full price plus shipping.

People will see the dinosaur and want a closer look.

At that point the see the scripture for Job 40:15

Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

The 10 Commandments
The 10 Commandments

The 10 Commandments

I was surprised to find this at my local Wal-Mart.

Noah
Noah

Noah's Ark

This was also from my local Wal-Mart.

John 3:16
John 3:16

John 3:16

For God so loved the world...

So far this is the only bible tie that I have not paid full price for.

And in case you were interested here is the full scripture for John 3:16 from the King James.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Christmas Ties

These ties are usually only worn in December.

Your a mean one Mr. Grinch
Your a mean one Mr. Grinch

What is the best Christmas cartoon?

The Grinch who stole Chrismas that's what.

I had to sneek this one into the house to surprise the family with.

Smile Deer
Smile Deer

Oh Deer what is he wearing now?

Both of these were gotten from JCPenny in their after chrsitmas specials.

And sense I had a cift card it was easy to walk out of the strore with.

Did you want Frosty on that one?
Did you want Frosty on that one?

Snowmen?

Why did you get snowmen?

Some people in my home do not like snow and yet here I am pushing snowmen on them.

Again it was an after Christmas special (50% off and a gift card)

Not to mention its not just for Christmas that these can ba worn.

Drumming away
Drumming away

What Christmas song always chokes me up?

That's right "The Little Drummer Boy"

Ok so its animated and we still have it on VHS with no machine to play it on.

But I am not getting rid of it - so there.

Back to the tie...

As soon as I saw this tie that song came into my head and it was in my hands at the check out line.

mistletoe
mistletoe

Another after Christmas sale tie.

Are you kidding me - quote the wife.

But dear its mistletoe.

Smootches.

OK you can keep it.

Computer Ties

Geek and prooud to admit it.

type=text
type=text

What says computer better then an endless void sucking you in.

Or is that more of what the wife says.

When it comes to computers just remember this from an interview I once had.

Interviewer - "What is your favorite DOS command?"

Me - "Format C: /s /u"

I got the job over 40 other people.

See a tie and match it.

Actually I had gotten the blue tie and worn it to church.

The next weekend the red tie was in my mail box.

As they say Geeks of a feather stick together.

Now a days they say there is a bug in the system.

But on my most recent job I wore this tie on the first day. I was told that ties are not required on this job. I pointed out that Its better to over dress then under dress on the first day. I also showed them the tie up close. At this point I saw smiles on their faces. OK but today only. Of course they didn't tell me that jeans were also OK to wear until the next day when I was in dress pants and a polo shirt.

Cartoon Ties

As I said above I get to pick out the ties and these will prove that I am a bit loonie.

type=text
type=text

I thought this one would be a good segway from the computer section.

You can never go wrong with Snoopy.

type=text
type=text

This is not double billing.

I am just making sure that the tie is listed in the correct location.

I did not want it to feel left out.

And as a side note - Wheree is the Great Gazoo?

type=text
type=text

Cat - Hat

In French Chat - Chapeau

I think that these were the only two french words I remember.

At that is because of the song that the Cat had done.

Here kitty, kitty

Here is one of those ties that people wonder why are you wearing a tie with flowers.

Look Gargield blends so nicely.

When it comes to ties here is a little raz a ma Taz.

This should help to understand why he put looney in the section for cartoons.

type=text

My money is on Wile E Coyote

It always has been and it always will be.

Animal Ties

And now for the section with the most ties.

type=text
type=text

When it comes to picking out ties...

I have a whale of a good time picking them out.

Actual the first tie I wore for an interview and got the job.

type=text
type=text

As a former Vegatarian

I am now on the see food diet.

If I see food I like I eat it.

I know that was too easy but its still fun to say.

type=text
type=text

Aww they are so adorable.

And its a good koala - a- tee tie.

type=text
type=text

Is it white with black stripes?

Or Black with white stripes?

The world may never know...

type=text

As the old saying goes

Never cry wolf.

Unless your son borrowed your tie and didn't tell you.

Again.

type=text
type=text

Have you ever seen one of these up close?

I mean the eagle not the tie.

I have at a bird sanctuary.

Seeing them flying or just sitting and looking around is amazing.

type=text

If you were to say that these were the cat's meow

You would be right.

My sister works in a zoo with these larger cats.

Antique Ties

Well sort of.

As you can see these ties have an older theme. Its amazing how many of the items on the first time I have seen or used.

With the second tie an antique shop may not have what I am looking for but it is always fun to look.

Even though this is the last tie - Be it known that I am always "looking" for interesting ties.

Actually this is also the last tie that I have purchased.

It had just been pulled off the floor and they had to run into the back and dig it out to me.

Again the price was below $3.00.

And yes I do have other ties but they are boring, mostly single color ties that collect dust.

As stated I am always looking for new Ties

With this tie it is another Goodwill special. However it is also special as I will only wear it on 9/11.

Which grouping of Ties did you like the best. - Have fun and choose the ones you would like to be seen with.

Which group of ties did you find the most interesting.

See results

Now that you have looked at all the pictures and comments you may wish to go on a bit of a tie-raid. - But instead check out a few ties that I have been thinking about.

This would go great with either of my Star Trek belt buckles.

I admit I don't tend to wear tie clips but I would be willing to make an occasional exception with this one.

Here we are at the bottom of the page you are now en-tie-tled to a little musical relief.

Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree (1998 Remastered)
