Hawaii Five O, A tv favourite

Spot the difference.

Can you spot the difference between the two titles in the pictures?

I am sure you have got it.

The original Police drama of the 60's was called Five-O.

The newer version has replaced the O with a zero. So the show becomes Hawaii Five-0. For me the title looks much neater.

Must be the digital world making demands, either that or the person designing the title sequence suffers fro OCD and has done it to make it much tidier and in a neat bunch of three things.

Isn't that what OCD sufferers do, or is it fives or evens, I don't know.No doubt I will be bombarded with know it all comments on the subject.

Not to worry, it was just an observation meant in a light hearted way. I think we all have weird tendencies at some point, but that will be for another hub.

The main reason for doing this article is to make a comparison between the two shows of the same name.

The earlier of the two was one of my favourite cop shows when I was growing up and I used to look forward to it every Saturday evening. That and Kojak with Telly Savalas.

Who are Five-0

For those of you who don't know who Five-O are, particularly if you have been living under a rock for the last 30 years or so, they are an Elite cop squad dealing with the underground criminal fraternity of Hawaii.

Award winning shows

Since the re-introduction the show has gone from strength to strength and Scott Caan was nominated for best supporting actor. In January 2011 the show won favourite TV drama award in the Peoples Choice Awards.

What has changed?

Watch the two opening sequence videos and you will notice immediately the quality of both picture and sound is totally different. Having said that the technology of the late 60's is still pretty good and has lasted the test of time.

Obviously the actors have changed. Something that hasn't changed is the Steve McGarrett line when he get's his man 'Book him Danno' One of the TV catchphrases of all time I reckon. This line always makes me smile. It must be to do with the fact that the goodies always get the baddies in cop drama's. There is usually a happy ending.

Interactivity is the name of the game.

Again in this hub I am going to make you work instead of just giving you all the information on a plate.

There are a lot of links around this article which point towards various themes, it could be the actors, the cars in the show, the TV stations it is networked on to mention but a few. Get to work, then, and have a good rummage around the sites to find out all the current gossip about the show. There are tons of facts when you start reading into it. I hope I have provided a little information to get your interest raised for this subject.

I always feel, when reading articles or anything else on the internet there is so much in depth information on various subjects which you just have to delve into and pick out what you want to read. Doing this you get the most out of your visits. Interactivity is the key to make reading more interesting.

I believe it also keeps readers interested in what you have to say and hopefully will keep the reader on your site for longer. It is very easy just to scan an article and be through it in seconds. Giving an amount of information with plenty of interesting links will let people surf elsewhere from you page without closing the page down hopefully. This is my take on this part of article writing anyway. Take from it what you will.

The 30/30 Hub Challenge

This is Hub 21 in the 30/30 Hub Challenge.

The countdown is now on to the end of this challenge.

I have to admit at the moment I am looking forward to reaching the end.

Too much of a good thing is not always necessarily the best. As I go through the challenge I have noticed the different feelings and stages that you get. You first start with an air of excitement as you crack off the first five or six articles. You reach your tenth and the struggle goes uphill to the twentieth. You feel as though you could be about to hit a wall. You want to write long and interesting articles but your mind begins to wander as you write, you forget why you are doing this and question whose stupid idea this was in the first place.

Over the hill at twenty and it is the weekend, things need your attention, you have been invited out. You question should I go? Do I have the time, can I be bothered? My advice is yes go and enjoy some down time away from the writing. Don't think about it for at least twelve hours. It is amazing how you come back with a clear mind and better motivation to reach your goal. The end of the challenge is within reach. You can almost smell the finish line. I am starting to write faster, I need to, as today I have to write two Hubs to get back right on track.

Staying on track is something which you need to do in this challenge. Deadlines are paramount If you want to make a career from writing I would think. There will be many reading this who want to do just that. This challenge is the discipline training to allow you to get good at writing to a deadline. Only you can put the pressure on yourself to do this and do it well.

Good things happen when you are challenged and busy. You seem to draw opportunities to you. Make sure you take advantage and keep your mind open as you go through your 30/30 challenge.

I recommend it to anyone writing on Hub Pages. It is the springboard and the momentum that you need to get this thing rolling. I think I may have mentioned this before but it is worth saying again. You gather new followers along the way. They see you as someone going places and want to join in and get in your slip stream in the hope that some of your success will rub off on them. It happens I can tell you. I am a follower and will jump into anyone's slip stream if they are blazing a trail. As with many areas of your life you need to follow successful people in your field and learn from them. Copy the successful things that they do. It saves so much time and ensures that you don't fail. Success breeds success. There are a number of stars around the Hub Page community, all you have to do is follow the ones who are ripping this thing up and get on their trail, do what they do, surround yourself with positive like minded people and success will find you. This I truly believe. Put the work in today and your future will be rewarded.

Good luck in your 30/30 Challenge. I just know you will do it!

21 0f 30....almost there!
