A small list of unique but great websites which you probably haven't heard of.

Uniqueness is the key.

Many people use the internet. In fact, 2 billion people use the internet. Isn’t a given that there should be some nifty websites out there? Well, there are! You just have to know where to look (which is what this hub is for)!

ThinkGeek http://www.thinkgeek.com/

A website for the geeks and nerds out there, ThinkGeek is an online retail store responsible for selling goods ranging from clothing to gadgets. The most unique items are exclusive to the website, which include things like the Tauntaun Sleeping Bag. Very cool, and certainly very geeky!

JibJab http://sendables.jibjab.com/

A online e-card maker, but with a twist! You can add your friends faces (and your own) from uploaded photographs and into video’s! You could star as an elf, or even a Mad Men character!

Wix http://www.wix.com/

A site like Weebly, Yola and other assorted websites, Wix is essentially a website making website! The tools are easy to use, there are hundreds of fantastic-looking templates and anyone can make one! This site is one of the best sites to make a website without having any idea how!

Etsy http://www.etsy.com/

An online retail store, but for everyone! Anyone who has the ability to make items, or just has a few things to sell; this is the place to go! Many items are handmade, from dolls to painted cups. If you’re looking for a great ‘indie’ buy, this is the place to go!

Ranker http://www.ranker.com/

If you love listing things (as I do) you might want to check out Ranker. It has a diverse range of subjects {games, sports, tech, cars etc} where you can post your lists and get likes and comments! It also has a great site design, allowing for easy navigation.

Avaaz http://www.avaaz.org

A very important website, Avaaz acts on global issues, such as human rights, with the use of online petitions, in effect to repeal laws and other events. With over 9 million users, Avaaz is expanding and helping the world become a better place.

Nitrome http://www.nitrome.com/

A great gaming website on in the internet, sold by the premise of nostalgic graphics and addictive gameplay. A must see for anyone who wants to pass some free time.

Scribd http://www.scribd.com/

A website for users to write or upload written content, be it a book or some website code. There are thousands of articles and pieces on there, you could find basically anything! Certainly one for book worms.

Wordnik http://www.wordnik.com/

A website for all-things-words. You can make lists of your favourite words, or find out the meaning or pronunciation of a word! Simple, but effective.

StumbleUpon http://www.stumbleupon.com

If you want to find unique websites on the internet (just like these ones mentioned in the list) StumbleUpon is for you! It scrolls through the internet, finding really neat websites for you to check out! I can certainly say it’s one of my most used websites.

These are just a handful of the great websites available out there. I would have mentioned Facebook and Twitter, but seeming as they are so big, everyone would know about them already. Enjoy!

Yeah I too have heard of stumble upon, however I've never ever heard of any of the other sites. I suppose it's because there are billions of websites out there, that it's going to be impossible to know all of them!

So many websites, so little time. Good information.
