Best Google Chrome Apps - Top 5 Chrome Web Applications

Updated on July 12, 2011

There's no doubt about it that Google is trying to take over the world.

Okay: so maybe they're not seriously trying to take over the planet.  But they are, in all seriousness, beginning to take over the internet.   And this isn't a bad thing.  Google is innovative; Google cares about the consumer.  Right?

The best example of this is their browser OS, Google Chrome.  Google Chrome was released a few years ago, under much skeptism, with the notion that the net was already full of internet browsers - good ones, too - and there wasn't room for anything new.

Since then Google has proven this wrong, showing the Chrome is one of the best browsers around and should be taken very seriously.

An example of this?

Google Chrome web apps.  Similar to how the android has the Google marketplace, Chrome has a web app  store.   It's a place where you can download hundreds of different Chrome add-ons, Google Chrome games, and numerous other Chrome web apps to increase productivity.

The next question, then, is what are the best Google Chrome apps.

Top 5 Chrome Web Applications:

_______________________________________________________________

Springpad

One of the best Google Chrome apps on the internet right now is one called Springpad. Springpad is a simple app - very similar to the mobile app EverNote - but works efficiently and effectively.

You can,

  • organize tasks
  • make lists
  • save products, movies, anything interesting.
  • an extension of Google search, finding you relevant information for the things you saved.

MOG

This is one of the newest Chrome applications and is also one of the best Google chrome apps around. You could even say, if you really wanted to, that MOG is an alternative to iTunes. Yes - it's that good.

The download of the MOG web app is free itself, but, in order to experience the fullness of this Chrome web addon, you need to pay a monthly fee. It's worth it though. You'll easily be able to navigate the interface, download music, play music, watch music videos.

It's an ell encompassing experience, making it one of the best apps for Google Chrome.

Fiabee

You know all those commercials you've seen about Windows 7 and their 'cloud' program; it's the program where you can share files over multiple devices. Well, the good thing, Goolge has an answer to that.

Fiabee is, without a doubt, one of the best Chrome apps in the world. It's a cloud-based storing app that allows you to share files and information over multiple devices. So, for example, you can be out on your android phone, find something interesting, and then continue using it back home on your computer.

Available in the Google chrome app store, this is one of the best web applications.

Atari Asteroids

Any top 5 list of the top Chrome apps has to include at least one game.

And, for this list, that game is the arcade classic Asteroids.

There's not much to say about this app other than 'happy blasting'.

Chrome Deck, TweetDeck

The final top Chrome app I want to mention is the mighty Chrome deck, Google's alternative to the desktop TweetDeck.

It's like Twitter, but only better. It's organized is a much more concise way, with your inbox and other important aspects listed in a column on the side; you can even custimized your layout for your needs. Perfect.

This is one of the best Google chrome apps because a) it's free, b) it's Twitter and c) it's really easy to use. Upload photos with a single click. Manage accounts easily. It has everything.
