Pen drive or USB flush drive, often is affected by several viruses or Trojans. Recent viruses, spywares, Trojans are very strong and if your computer is even attacked by them, you are in problem today or tomorrow. The immediate attracted devices of such type of malicious virus, is the pen drive or USB flash drive. If your pen drive or USB flash drive is affected by them, most of the time its hard to heal the pen drive or USB flash drive. This page will tell you the tips to recognize whether your pen drive or flash drive is affected by any viruses or Trojans etc.

What happend if your pen drive is affected by virus?

If you insert your pen drive or USB flash drive to any computer (which is affected by Viruses or Trojans or Spy wares), then most of the time the first target is to attack the pen drive. If the device is attached by those types of virus affected computer then you may face the following problem:

Your anti virus software shows warning message

If your antivirus program is really good and updated and shows the warning message, then it's quite sure that your pen drive is affected by some kinds of viruses. In this case, it's wise to scan and delete those viruses and then to open pen drive or USB flash drive.

Unable to access pen drive data

If your pen drive is affected by strong virus then sometimes it's not possible to access the pen drive data. If you try to access those types cases, Access is denied. message will be displayed like the following figure. If your continuously try to access pen drive, you will noticed the same type of messages and there is a possibility to affect your virus free computer with them if you don't have a good antivirus software.

Virus free computers are affected by the affected pen drive

Most of the time, the affected pen drive tries to install the virus to any virus free computer when you insert that affected pen drive to those computer. If the computers have not strong antivirus or security related programs installed, those computers must be affected by those viruses.

Windows format tool is unable to format the affected pen drive

Sometimes, it's hard to format the affected pen drive. If you try to format those pen drives form Windows machine (By using Windows Format tool) you will be failed. When you are trying to format, you will find the message like You do not have sufficient rights to perform this operation.

Not possible to format form command prompt

If your pen drive or USB flash drive is affected by these typoe of viruses, then you may not be able to format form command prompt. When you tryign to format by using format command, you will see the message like

Insert new disk for drive H: 
and press Enter when ready...
Access denied
