Updated on December 13, 2014

Temple of Jade Buddha & Grand Palace

Top Attractions in Bangkok

Do you have any plan to Bangkok, Thailand? Any special places come to your mind yet. Oh never mind if you don't have any ideas about Bangkok. Let's me show you where to go and why you should visit that places. Be my guess...

In Thai know this temple as "Wat Pra Sri Satsadaram". This is the most beautiful attraction in Bangkok that you can't miss, otherwise you may feel like you are not touch the heart of Thailand. This attraction open daily in the early morning until the end of the end. If you would like to visit this place, dress up politely to show your respect to this sacred places in Thai belief. Wat Prakeaw has many great attractions like Golden Pagoda, Sacred Buddhist Scripture, Religious Wall Painting, Sacred Thai Architecture and the heart of this place is Jade Buddha. This place adjoin to the Grand Place, you can enjoy watching the King's Throne, ancient weapons and the palace decorations and architectures.

The Temple of Reclining (Wat Chetupon) or Wat Pho is the most remarkable of The most beautiful Reclining Buddha Image and Thai Massage school. This attraction is not far away from the Grand Palace. Most of tourists visit this temple to make a wish and sightseeing the Thai - Chinese arts like sacred scriptures, huge golden buddha image and make a merit by dropping a penny coin when making a wish. After browsing around the temple, then you can enjoy and relax yourself at the massage school which located in the temple area. But there are many tourists in the line waiting to use this exotic Thai massage with a very cheap price at 350 - 600 bath or $10 - 20.

The Temple of the Dawn (Wat Dawn) is an ancient temple in Thailand was built in the reign of King Taksin. This temple changed name from "Wat Cheang" to "Wat Arun" in the reign of King Rama II. Well I write too much about the history of this Temple. This temple remarkable of its Pagoda that made by a seashells and porcelain that decorated by some Chinese style. You can visit this temple easily by taking the ferry at the pier opposite to "Wat Pho or Temple of Reclining Buddha" across Chao Praya River. The fee is only 5 bath approximately.

There is only place that you can find good seafood with affordable price at Yaowarat Street or China Town. You may surprise when see the seafood restaurants at the sidewalk. You may think that is the seafood hygienic enough. My answer is "Yes, it is." The food is good and safe enough to eat but I would not recommend you to have fresh seafood like fresh oysters, clams or other uncooked foods. As you know the restaurants place at the roadside, so there are a lot of pollution especially car emission can cause diarrhea. Anyway, there are many choices for you to choose as well - air conditioning seafood restaurant or open-air seafood restaurants around the corner. You will love shark fin soup in the clay pot, stream crabs, fresh lobsters, big prawns and or famous menu - Tum Yum Kung. You also can enjoy sidewalk shopping after great dinner, LOL.

  • Jatujak Market(or JJ Market)

My friends who visit bangkok crazy for this market, they're never ever miss this place whenever they come (They means females friends, LOL). If you love bargaining and cheap products, JJ market will never lets you down. JJ is a weekend market that open only Saturday - Sunday. You can find fashion cloths, fashion shoes, pets, souvenirs, furniture and even exotic Thai food here. If you come to JJ market, don't forget to bring a huge bag with you. One big bag is never enough.

Frankly, I don't want to recommend this place to you but it's a real night life in Bangkok, anyway. Patpong known as the night market where there are many coffee shops, massages and spas and bars around this area. Tourists enjoy visiting this place because they can find some interesting activities or have exciting experience over here. So let's find out.

If you travel with your partner or couple traveler. Chao Praya cruise is considered one of the most romantic place for couple. The cruise will depart from River City Pier in every evening and return to the same origin. There are high quality foods serve on the cruise with romantic atmosphere. You and your partner or friends will enjoy having dinner under the candle light, soft and sweet music, night scenes along the Chao Praya river. Couple don't miss it!!

The main reason I recommend this restaurant as an alternative choice for couple who don't like the cruise. Sirocco is the highest restaurant located on top of Le Bau or State Tower building on Silom Road. You can enjoy dinner with a warm atmosphere under the dome and or open air table with the night view of Bangkok. If you just want to see only the view of Bangkok, you can purchase a ticket only 500 baht or $15 - 20 approximately. I'm not really sure that the restaurant offer welcome drink or not. Once I've been there, I saw many couples have a sweet moment together over there. I guarantee that you will love this place because it makes you feel like almost touching the stars.

  • Branded Lovers don't miss Siam Paragon, Central World, Siam Discovery, MBK, Kasorn Plaza or other shopping centers at Ratchaprasong area. Chinese and Japanese tourist don't forget to visit 4-faces Buddha at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel. You will get what you ask for.

After you come here Bangkok, Thailand, you will change your perception on this country - prostitue country is totally bad reputation for this beautiful country and people. This article delicates to my country with love!! :-)
