Information About India

India is historic, famous tourist destination in the world. The area of India is 32, 87,263 sq.km. If we talk about area than India holds seventh place in the world but it holds second place in population. The capital of India is New Delhi in past in British time the capital of India was Calcutta which is known as kolkatata at present. The length from east to west is 2,933 km and from North to west is 3214 km. India has divided into 28 states and 8 Union Territories

Delhi- The Capital of India

Delhi is very old and historical state of India, its area is 1,483 sqkm. Delhi was established by Anantpal of tomar caste in 11th century. After freedom in 1947 A.D. it was declare as the capital of India in 1956 AD

Delhi was declared as the central ruled state. The population of Delhi is over 11 million. The neighboring State of Delhi is, in east Haryana, in south-west Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in East. The state language of Delhi is Hindi. The main crops of Delhi are Vegetables. There are many big and small industries in Delhi in past there were many big industries in Delhi, due to pollution and other matters every big industries were transferred to its neighboring state Haryana (Gurgaon) and Uttar Pradesh. Delhi is the capital so it speaks almost every language but mostly Delhi people speaks Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. If we talk about religious and festival than Delhi celebrates each and every festival. It celebrates each and every festival very joyfully. People mainly celebrate Dashhara (Navratri), Deepawali, Id, Bakrid, Ramnavmi, Christmas, Holy and many more.

Because Delhi is tourist place so it had huge number of tourist place like Lalquila, Kutab Minar, Lotus temple, Akshardham, Jama masjid, India gate, Connaught place, , Firozshah kotla, Nizamuddin ka makbara, Lodi ka makbara, Mugal garden, Hauge khas, safdarjung ka makbara, President palace, Gardens, Delhi metro and many more.

  • The biggest state of India in Area is Rajasthan and small state in area is Goa.
  • The International borders which are touching India are China, Nepal, Bhutan and Pakistan in north or North West, Myanmar and Bangladesh in east. It also shares waters border with Srilanka, Maldives and Indonesia.


The Climate of India
Generally India have monsoon climate. The India climate has affected by two factor one is the presence of Himalayas in north due to this the hot air of mid Asia does not come to India. Second factor is the presence of the Indian Ocean.
In hot seasons the low pressure area is occurred in whole India and Pakistan. The heavy rainfall state in area is Assam, Meghalaya, west banal where there is more than 1000mm. In India Masinram is the place where yearly average rainfall is 11,405mm. Masinram is one step ahead than charapuji for rainfall and these both place is in Meghalaya state in India. The Medium rainfall states are Bihar, North Uttar Pradesh, Oodisa and Himachal Pradesh where there are 500- 1000 mm rainfall yearly. The less rainfall area is Rajasthan and the whole state which are not mentioned above where there is 100-500 mm than and north-west Gujarat is where there is less than 100mm rainfall.

Indian Transport
Today world are dependent upon transport. Transport is a mechanical thing which helps man to go from one place to another with time changing India has made so much improvement in transportation. The Indians transport is divided into 3 types.

• Water Transport
• Air Transport

Land Transport: - In this mainly roadways and Railways comes. This transport works with man, animal, motor, truck and rail. In India there are 3 types or road they are National super Highway, National Highway and roads of district villages.
Making and maintenance of National superhighway goes to central government. India has the length of more than 1, 20,500 km.


Railways: - Indian railway is the lifeline of India. Indian railway is the biggest railway network in Asia and fourth in world. The first railway was start in April, 1853A.D. In India which was 34km long. Indian railway is the biggest government network in India. The length of Indian railway track 68,155 km as on March 2019
there are 3 rail paths in India. They are as follows
• Broad gauge (Badi line)
• Meter gauge (choti line)
• Narrow gauge (sakri line)
