Sunsets Over the Years
I have always loved sunsets
Sunsets - One of My Favorite Things In Life
My whole life I think, I can't remember a time when I didn't love sunsets. I am absolutely enthralled by them, they really really get my attention. Its nothing new, I know, as many people have expressed they feel the same way about sunsets. This is just a small sampling of some sunsets I have captured over the years, and I wanted to share them.
One of the very coolest thing about sunsets, is that you will never ever see one exactly the same, two times. Each one is a work of art in itself. If you look at this set of sunsets through the slideshow option, notice the degrees of different colors and lights shown in each. There is quite an array of color, depending what is going on within your view of the horizon.
Another thing I love about sunsets, is they don't really last that long, once they begin to get good. So you have to act quickly, or just be ready with a camera if you hope to catch them. It is so relaxing to actually watch the sun set, I could watch a new one every day if given the chance!
A Favorite Memory
Last year, around the time that my father Al passed away, I went to the beach alone, in California. I went to a beach my dad often used to take us girls when we were young. I had the perfect view of the sun set. I watched it go all the way down.
I noticed the mesmerizing repetition of the waves crashing against the rocks, and how some gulls would fly by now and then. The sunset itself, is a very repetitious thing. As another wave broke, then another, I would see what seemed like sparkles of color and light coming through the droplets of water then fall right back down again, like little stars. It was truly beautiful! My dad is partly responsible for the love I have for nature and things like sunrises and sunsets. So it was very special to me to experience that particular sunset there, during such a difficult time. It was very beautiful, comforting, peaceful.
More Sunsets To Come
I look forward to so many more sunsets, and I hope that the next time you get to see one, that you take a minute to think about what makes that one special, or its own "work of art." Maybe its a silhouette of a tree, a boat, a house, a bird flying by, or the colors. No matter what, its a little gift, and I am so thankful for those.
