Ten Places I Would Like To Visit Before I Die
As we grow older sometimes time isn't always on our side. All of us have a bucket list. But should we accomplish all of our goals really depends on how we handle our finances, job opportunities and our goals. Are we side-tracked from our dream? Travel with me as I take you to the ten places I would like to visit before I live this Earth. Both domestically and internationally these are places I have not seen but only in the movies. I dream of going to them one day but for now I only see them in pictures and write about why I wish to go there.
Tuscany Italy
Maybe its because the movie 'Under The Tuscan Sun' mesmerized my senses or maybe its due to the World famous artists that originate from there such as MichaelAngelo, Dante and DaVinci. There is something mystical about the landscape of Tuscany, Italy that lures me into its majestic beauty. Being able to see the 'Cathedral Of Pisa' , the historical center of Florence and the Val D 'Orcia is what I would like to visit. Do a little shopping and bask in the Italian sun is one of my destinations I would like to see before I die.
Cardiff Wales
Thinking about family on the other side of the Ocean makes me wonder what life would be like if I were there? Cardiff or (Caerdydd) is the capital of Wales and my father's roots. Cardiff is known for the lush greenery and has more parks per capita than any other city in the UK. I would take in a few games of Rugby and Cricket while snacking on 'Bara Birth' or politely known as 'Speckled Cake' in English. I would get to know some of the friendly people of Cardiff and check-out a couple of museums while learning a little bit of family history.
Crete' Greece
Visiting Greece would be amazing! Crete's sits by the Ocean with its history and culture, it would be a delight to enjoy a little nightlife in Malia and roll my toes through the sand. Write about my adventure and take hundreds of pictures of such a beautiful city. Crete', Greece would be a destination I may never wish to leave.
Cologne Germany
Cologne, Germany is one of the oldest cities in Europe. With the passion I have for Art they are known for their contemporary Art and wealthy Architectural history. I would tour the Cathedral of Cologne and bask in its glory and when I am finished I would walk along the River Rhine. I would shop on the 'Schildergrass' and purchase unique things to bring home. I would even try a German beer or two while mingling with the locals, should I ever visit Cologne. These are the International hot spots I would like to see before God calls me home.
Atlanta Georgia
In the United States there are places, I have been and places I would love to see. Going to Atlanta has always been on my bucket list. I would enjoy the Atlanta History Center and attend the Atlanta ballet. Packing a lunch I would tour through Grant's Park admiring all of the old Victorian homes that have so many stories to tell. Could you imagine running your toes through the grass in Grant Park? Smelling the Cherry blossoms and daydreaming about wherever your mind takes you? The sun kissing your cheeks and the wind blowing through your hair?
Philadelphia Pennsylvania
If you reside in 'Philly' lucky you! Home to the 'Liberty Bell' , there is so much culture and nightlife there. The best "Philly Cheese steak" sandwiches in the World are made in Philadelphia. I would visit Independence Hall and stand in admiration knowing that the "Declaration of Independence" was signed there. I would tour the homes of Betsy Ross and Edgar Allen Poe soaking in the History of when our Country began. With so many museums, touring the African American Museum in Philadelphia and the Atwater Kent museum would be icing on the cake.
New Orleans Louisiana
With all the culture, festivals, music and history who would not wish to visit New Orleans? Home of the Mardi Gras and the history of the French Quarter New Orleans would become a destination for me. A multicultural city that would be a mesmerizing and memorable journey. I would also make sure I did not book any flights during Hurricane season. With my luck I would end up experience that too and when visiting I would not be prepared.
Montpelier Vermont
The four seasons in Vermont are breathtaking. Have you ever seen them on a calendar? Montpelier, Vermont is the smallest capital in the Country but rich with culture. It abolished slavery while still independent and is home to the best Maple Syrup in the World. I would travel the mountains and forests looking at all of the beauty that surrounds Vermont. Finding the most charming bed and breakfast I would bring a great book and leave the laptop at home.
Washington D.C.
All of the history of the United States is nestled beautiful in Washington D.C. I would have to spend at least a week in Washington visiting all of the sites. The best time for me would be during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The beauty of all of the trees in bloom is priceless. It would exciting to walk the paths and halls of our founding forefathers; and travel to the Lincoln Memorial , National Museum of American History and the Smithsonian. Being able to see Washington D.C. is of importance to me as an American. Sometimes we have to be reminded of how our Country began.
Honolulu Hawaii
There is something intriguing about a city that is surrounded by water and tropical foliage. Crystal blue skies and tradition of the Island would be an adventure. Touring Pearl Harbor would be so heart-touching; but I still don't understand why those men are entombed there? I would attend Luaus, shop and enjoy the beach. These are the top 10 places I would like to see before I die. What places would you like to see?
