Travel To Myrtle Beach

Updated on November 11, 2012

The Weather Is The Star !

Travel to Myrtle BeachSouth Carolina and you'll know you've found your second home. Located in the southeast USA, here is a traditional vacation spot for all of America be it families, snowbirds or bikers.

Here are a few of my favorite things to do when I there; Shopping;

Broadway At The Beach is my favorite shopping location. Located just a few miles inland from the beach, this outdoor walking mall has many fine stores and restaurants as well as a mini golf course. My favorite attraction here is Ripley's Aquarium-you have to experience this aquarium first hand to see why it is one of South Carolina's top ten tourist attractions.

Barefoot Landing an another wonderful area loaded with shopping, restaurants and attractions. Located overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway you'll also find the Alabama Theater here will excels in locally themyed musical entertainment.

For your best buy on clothing there are two Tanger Outlets, both loaded with many famous brand name shopping outlets. You will get a good buy here !

Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach is one of South Carolina's largest indoor shopping experiences. With over 170 stores and loads of parking, I've never found it overly crowded in here even in the holiday season.

At the site of the old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base is now the modern Market Common Myrtle Beach. With perhaps the most upscale shops in the area, you'll enjoy the modern outlay here.

Another major attraction is The Carolina Opry. This 2,200 seat theater has many seasonal shows, all of high quality and is regionally famous.

If you here during baseball season, be sure to visit the local minor league baseball team, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Here at this modern baseball stadium I'm sure you'll be made to feel at home. An evening here is a wonderful low cost way to have fun.

Many of the hotels have their own waterparks, but if yours doesn't then you'll like to head over to Myrtle Waves, one of the largest in the eastern USA.

For the golfers, there are to many courses to even discuss, however a few of my favorites are the courses at; Barefoot Resort, Longbay, River Oaks and Arrowhead.

There are some many beaches to spend your day at. From Pawleys Island to the south, to North Myrtle Beach, the large expansive sand awaits. In general, most of these beaches have free parking at or nearby. After your busy day in Myrtle Beach, there is no need to worry as over 1000 restaurants await you.

The most interesting-well kept secret about the Myrtle Beach area is the weather. As tourist season is at its height in the summer, I've found the best weather to be October thru March. Whatever your plans-I'm sure you'll enjoy !!
