Welcome to The Baron, the ONLY Place to Stay in Afghanistan
You have spent a long time getting to this backwards resort. You wanted to get away and into a more "rustic" environment where excitement sizzles and danger thrives at every turn. Go no further in Kabul, Afghanistan, than the 376 room hotel, The Baron! It is a sprawling affair that resembles a college campus and at $350 a night, things must be popping.
The Baron is Pakistani owned and like an ancient castle, it is protected by a giant wall around it to keep the "war" and "terrorists" out. These walls have eyes, electronic and Afghan security forces peering from the walls. Inside, as one person noted, you would never know there was a war going on and you tend to forget it is Afghanistan, why? Well, one has no reason to leave the compound area, you have everything: Kabul's largest swimming pool, full bar, squash and tennis courts, saunas, private offices for your business, daily buffets by Asian chefs, a huge area of green lawn to relax in. You can live and work in The Baron, as you can even shop in their stores for local goods, shop at their grocery store, workout in their well equipped gym, play pool or basketball and eat in their restaurants.
The Baron is a five star hotel, or as close as you will find in Kabul. If you need to leave The Baron, it can sometimes be a shock to your system. If you need to catch a flight, for $400 you can get there safely in an armored Humvee. But will your flight be there?
So, kick back at The Baron and welcome to the Outer Limits.
