Alexander Staffa earned an Associate of Science degree from Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs and later attended Metropolitan State University of Denver. After spending 29 years in Colorado, he moved to Amesbury, Massachusetts, where he plans to complete his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He has applied to several universities across the state while continuing his education.
While considering his options, he is living near Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Louisville, Colorado, he now resides in a coastal area renowned for its vibrant tourism scene and steady influx of visitors. Being surrounded by people from diverse backgrounds adds variety to his days and gives him a sense of connection as he plans his next steps.
His interest in chemistry comes from a genuine curiosity about how the world operates. He is intrigued by atoms, molecules, and chemical reactions and how they influence the food we eat, the medicines we use, and the environment around us. He enjoys the challenge of laboratory work, where he can experiment, make observations, and connect theory with practice. Whether synthesizing compounds, analyzing substances, or exploring sustainable materials, he values the process of discovery and accuracy.
He approaches chemistry with both focus and imagination, allowing him to visualize complex processes and find practical solutions. His education opens many possible career paths, including pharmaceuticals, environmental studies, forensics, and teaching.
Born in Louisville, Colorado, he began skiing at the age of five. With easy access to ski areas such as Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin, he developed a strong passion for the sport. While studying in Steamboat Springs, known as “Ski Town, USA,” he skied approximately 100 days a year over three seasons, from 2013 to 2016. Skiing gives him a sense of freedom, helps him stay active, and strengthens both his body and mind.
Outside of skiing, he enjoys dirt biking, hiking, and tubing, as well as video and board games, such as Dungeons & Dragons. These activities reflect his creativity, love for exploration, and problem-solving mindset. Through his studies, work, and interests, Alexander Staffa continues to pursue growth, curiosity, and meaningful connections in all parts of his life.
