Also follow me on:

I’m Anne, a 20-something, language-loving, piano-dabbling, cat-obsessing, theatre-critiquing, concert-going, city-dwelling redhead.

A former English and Creative Writing student at DePaul University, I currently work at a marketing agency (and dream of the day I can find a position in editorial) and write freelance theatre reviews for an online A&E publication in Chicago.

I love fiction, vinyl, Europe, singing, musicals, stand-up, Pink Floyd, margaritas, and my fuzzy, whiskered roommate Winston.

I started on HubPages when I was a wee undergrad and have only recently updated my profile. Feel free to message or comment, and if you have any suggestions for hubs you’d like to see me write, don’t be shy!

Besides her gorgeous, soulful contralto and mood-driven, sometimes erratic piano-playing, Apple's lyrics are where she really comes to life.

The Best Female Singer We All Forgot About

As a lover of 60's music as well as strong female vocalists, it saddens me that some great talent from those days has been long forgotten. I'm not talking about Janis Joplin, because she, most deservedly, has not been forgotten (although, folks...

    The Excitement of Writing....Again!

I'm currently absorbed in a writing project once again and it feels so good to be back, to be so into something that I lose track of time and just write for hours on end, ignoring the painful grumbling in my stomach from not eating all day, because...

After the seventh and final Harry Potter book was released, the wonderful podcast Mugglecast (run by the guys -- and girl -- from Mugglenet) re-read the book and did a chapter-by-chapter segment on the show every week, discussing in depth the...

    10 Must-See Broadway Musicals

Among my many passions and obsessions, musical theatre is one of the most deep-rooted. I was sent a request to make a list of ten must-see musicals, and it wasn't easy; there are a lot of other amazing musicals I wish I could've fit on this list,...

"All Was Well" : Why I, Unlike So Many Others, Liked the Harry Potter Epilogue

I am an avid Harry Potter fan. And I'm not using the word "avid" lightly. I've been to midnight book releases, I've seen the band Harry and the Potters six times, I've dressed up as Crookshanks more times than I'd care to mention, I've lost count of...

    A Defense of Nostalgia

I read something today that made me reevaluate a lot of things in my life. Well, nothing too important. Not my philosophies on life, religious beliefs, political views, or anything heavy like that. Just some silly television shows, music groups,...
