While growing up, my dad always said to me, “If you don’t know something, look it up.” I always found this annoying, if I am being honest, until we got the internet. Information was literally at my fingertips and it didn’t require me to walk to a library and check out a book! What did people do before the internet?! (Hehe.) So, my obsession with becoming the biggest know-it-all was born and now, in my twenties, I have this pride in being well-spoken and knowledgeable. Don’t get me wrong, I fully understand how obnoxious this can be; but, I consider myself an optimist so I choose to look at it as endearing.

What field does a know-it-all fall into? Teaching, duh! I get to have a class full of naïve students dependent on me for their knowledge? Sign me up!!! :) Unfortunately, the employment outlook for teachers is not exactly hot on the market right now, so it’s time to get creative. All kidding aside, my true passion in life really is teaching. I feel blessed to have found a calling which gets me excited and leaves me fulfilled. It’s just so unfortunate that my student loans are currently for nothing.

…or are they? Ahh, yes, this brings me to writing; see patience pays off, you’d get to my point eventually. Writing, in any form, relays a message. When a written piece reaches a reader, the outcome can range from disinterested to fully engaged. Throughout this experience, I will probably bore, possibly engage, but, hopefully teach. If I can accomplish two out of three, then I think that equates a success.
