My first dream career was a ballerina truck-driver. Daddy said, “that way you have a backup job if the ballerina thing doesn’t work out and you can drive around to all your gigs.” As it turns out, I really can’t keep up with the music, and I don’t like to drive. After that I wanted to be a paleontologist, architect, and a whole slew of other things. I chose writing as a dream career some time in high school. My writings from the senior year of high school, according to my sister, would not have made me famous. So, I graduated in 2010 with a BFA in writing and literature and started my practical career/backup job as the head of my department in a midwestern county library. I’m still working on that make-me-famous novel, and on an MLS.
