Welcome to my Profile Page, I’m Bakulesh Thakker. I am Statistician by education and Computer Programmer. Most of my working life I have worked on IBM Mainframes which means using COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, IMS, DB2, Assembler, etc. But recreationally and lately seriosly I am writing more and more in newer languages like Java etc. One day I was searching the web about how to write articles online, because I like writing online guides that help people. Judging from the fact that I have not written a new article for a long time you could say that I have lost interest. I think so this site sucks. For writing serious mathematical stuff this is not suitable site. I would also like to develop some software which will let dual transliteration to be represented for at least Indic or Brahmi scripted languages. ITRANS was one transliteration notation that was developed by Avinash Chopde which has unique ability to represent all Indic languages using more or less similar notation. So, for example, if some text were written in Hindi if it is also made available (say, by javascript code) as ITRANS then anyone who knows ITRANS can read and understood more or less fully. Also we are far from solving the Indic languages keboardation issues. ITRANS is one very easy way to completely bypass keyboardation problems. Mind you, dual transliteration could make a lot of european languages easily understandable by those who have not mastered the language.

Another obsession for me now is Item Response Theory. There are some software which allow one to enable IRT analysis for the purpose of developing online educational material. Existing softwares need to be leveraged and made more user friendly for really to make these exiciting field accessible to educators and analysts.

And lastly all those articles on numerical computation shows that I am interested in autonomously self-adjusting numeric precision in computations used in real application. I think so Artificial Intelligence should be used to devise systems which relieves burden of worrying about precision loss from the shoulders of scientists and engineers.
