6969I am a family man and married to my lovely wife Jo and live in a lovely part of the UK on the edge of the New Forest and near to Bournemouth. We have four children ranging from 18 through to 28, plus a granddaughter aged 4!
I have been in business since 1990, and the first one was set up soon after returning from Australia, where I worked as a Chartered Accountant. One of my first businesses was a Chartered Accounting practice, which allowed me to advise many businesses on a range of services.
The service I offered and really enjoyed was business development work and helping businesses grow. However, more recently I have invested in a couple of businesses and applied these growth principles for myself. The first was a care businesses, which I helped grow by a 3-times multiple, until I sold my share back to the two brothers that continue to run the business.
I then purchased a larger business in Dorset manufacturing furniture and took this from a turnover of £1.6 million to £2.5 million, and following a bout of cancer, I have now stepped back from this business to focus on book writing and helping other businesses grow and succeed.
In between all of this, I have also built up a small property portfolio across the UK and I'm always looking for other opportunities in this side of my business.
