Brian Calfano is a respected journalist, professor, documentary director, and author focusing on political and journalism issues from the twentieth century. His extensive career spans media and academia, making him a key figure. He is the first scholar-in-residence at Latakoo, a video management software company that works with major news organizations such as NBC Universal, Nexstar, and Charter Spectrum. He also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Political Science at the University of North Texas.

In Springfield, Missouri, Brian contributed to KOLR10 as a producer and anchor for several programs, including a special on Missouri’s bicentennial and a series on the US Constitution. He also hosted “Morningline,” a public affairs radio show on News Talk 560AM KWTO, where he interviewed political figures. Additionally, he participated as a media panelist in congressional debates for KOLR10.
One of his notable works is the documentary Al Primo & His Eyewitness Revolution, which chronicles the early days of television news. The documentary has garnered several awards, including Best Documentary at the 2024 Golden Nugget International Film Festival in London, and was selected for distribution to PBS stations across the country.
Brian R Calfano has received numerous accolades for his journalism, including First Place in Education Issues Reporting from the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists and nominations from the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences.
