Let's see, where to start.
About me; I was born in the early sixties, but enough about how old I am.
I grew up mostly in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Early on I gravitated towards servicing import cars. Made a pretty good living for a number of years.
Married Jill at 30, and had little Lessa eight years later. We didn't expect to be able to have kids, so she's a blessing.
In '05, we decided to get out of the city before the housing boom burst. We took out the equity in our city hut and bought a little one in the Prescott area. This is a "micropolis" in the mountains of northern Arizona with about 150,000 residents.
We spent about 9 months owning two homes on a part-time teachers' salary and whatever I could earn on the side. We were nervous!
The housing market was due to collapse at any moment, and we owned two of them that we couldn't afford!
We rented the Prescott house to a guy with a guest room for ourselves for weekends. It took us 9 months to make the move. We replaced all of our furniture. When we moved, we gave him 3 months free to live in the hut while we took a long vacation. We needed the time off.
In '06, we sold the big house for far more than it was worth and moved into the little one. We've never looked back.
Our renter was a remodeler by trade, and he taught me how to turn my talents into a business. He eventually had to return to the East Coast due to an illness in his family.
Since moving I have been working as an independent home remodeler. I'm creative and have learned a lot. I'll write up some things, and also answer questions sent to me.
As I started out in auto service, I may have some opinions about that subject. I will pass them on as I think that they are relevant and interesting to readers.
