Thanks for stopping by! My name is Carl and I operate career websites Bailout My Career and Find Your Dream Career to help people in their job searches and during their career.
I enjoy Internet marketing so I also operate Permanent Hair Removal Tips and Smart Online Dating Tips too.
I feel that I have numerous relevant experiences during my career that come in useful when helping people with their careers. Here are a few highlights to show you what I’ve done so far:
-I’ve worked internationally in New Zealand, from 1994-1998.
-I've survived several corporate downsizings while many of my colleagues were being laid off.
-I‘ve been laid off twice during corporate downsizings.
-I know what it's like to be self-employed.
-I've helped many people find better jobs.
-I've written an ebook for career-minded individuals just like you called Recruiter Secrets Revealed.
-I started to work as a professional recruiter in 2000 first as an Information Technology (IT) recruiter and then in general recruitment across many industries including IT, manufacturing and marketing. Since this time, I have helped many people find their dream career and it's a great feeling.
-I experienced one of the slowest hiring periods in recent memory especially during the general hiring slowdown that followed the Y2K frenzy in 1999, the bursting of the dot com bubble in early 2000, and then the employment market bottoming out following September 11, 2001.
These were certainly not great times to be a job searcher in most industries nor was it a particularly good time to be a recruiter.
My main focus for writing is to dispel many of the myths that are perpetuated related to career advice. Quite simply many of the people offering career advice - especially on the Internet - have no idea what they are talking about and obviously have no practical experience helping people improve their careers.
Taking the wrong advice can really hurt your career and I want to steer you towards helpful advice that will benefit you in the long term.
Over the past few years, I’ve also realized that an important part of my life and interests – and perhaps yours as well – is the idea of entrepreneurship and becoming self-employed. These days being self-employed doesn’t necessarily mean quitting your day job and opening a store or running some other business full-time that requires you to work super long hours and invest a tonne of money up front. There are plenty of online and more traditional options to consider if you want to make a full-time job switch or if you just want a second income and that’s what I’ll be discussing in more detail.
Thanks again for stopping by and feel free to follow me on Twitter @carlmueller.
