Also follow me on:

I'm a practical idealist with an insatiable sense of curiosity, an adventurous spirit, and a dry sense of humor who loves to make really good cookies for my favorite people.

My passions include promoting human rights, peacemaking, and sustainability. I'm devoted to my husband, Ken ... my four children and three stepchildren ... my three grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren ... and my two "daughters in love." (I just wish they weren't scattered all over the U.S. and beyond [Germany]!)

I'm fond of French food, mountains, bodies of water, horses, cats, most dogs, white roses, daisies, wine, chocolate, movies, live theater, reading and continual learning, reincarnation research, music (classical, 60s-70s rock, Celtic, folk), and the work of The Monroe Institute.

Personal motto: "It's better to be radical than to be boring."

What shapes my worldview: "If the map doesn't match the ground, the map is wrong."

I'm a Senior Proposal Writer for a private company in northern Virginia (NoVa) that provides IT and network communications services to government clients. Previously, I worked for several other similar companies in NoVa -- and before that, I spent 12 years in direct marketing and corporate communications at a HarperCollins subsidiary, a brand/marketing agency, and an international nonprofit, where I was an associate creative director and senior copywriter specializing in multichannel campaigns, donor communications and direct mail.

I've done media work for a citywide event and two international journalists, have journalistic experience in a war zone, and have lived and worked in Arizona, California, Michigan, Montana and Virginia -- plus Mexico, Europe and Israel.

Education: MA International Studies (University of Denver), MA Religious Education (Grand Rapids Theological Seminary), BA Anthropology (University of Arizona)

Memberships: Denver Council on Foreign Relations, Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies, and Hypermind (a private global forecasting enterprise).
