Music has always been at the center of Coleman Creed Ledbetter’s story. From childhood evenings around a campfire in Waller, Texas, guitars were passed from hand to hand as his father and grandmother played, and Coleman joined in. Those moments laid the foundation for his own path as a singer, songwriter, and guitar player. Over time, what began as a family tradition evolved into a passion. Today, his songs and performances fit naturally into country music, a genre that reflects his roots, the land where he grew up, and the people who inspire him. He has performed live in Lubbock, including a show at Bashas, a venue that supports young musicians. For Coleman, songwriting is a way to stay grounded, drawing on his Texas upbringing, time outdoors, and the values passed down through family.
Coleman’s story, however, began with wide open land, horses, and strong family traditions in Waller, Texas. He was raised on a horse ranch down the dirt road from his Grandparents, where mornings often started with chores and evenings ended with fishing or exploring the outdoors. That way of life gave him a deep respect for steady work and simple living. Waller was not only his hometown, but also the place where he learned the values of responsibility, honesty, and community. These values remain central to his education, work, and personal choices today.
In 2021, Coleman graduated from Waller High School. He began his college journey at Texas Tech before transferring to South Plains College. He expects to graduate in 2026, with plans to become an electrician. Coleman Ledbetter sees education as more than just classes; for him, it is about learning essential skills that prepare him for life. He values the trades because they allow him to create something tangible with his own hands. Training as an electrician is a step toward independence, offering stability while still allowing space for music and creativity.
Outside of school and music, Coleman spends much of his time outdoors. Fishing, hunting, and surfing are not simply hobbies, but natural parts of his lifestyle. Growing up in Texas gave him an early love for open spaces, and trips to Costa Rica introduced him to surfing at a young age. Since then, it has become one of his favorite activities. Whether casting a line in a lake, riding waves, or hunting back home, time outdoors gives him balance and energy to return to school and music with focus.
Coleman has also gained valuable work experience that has shaped his character. At Epic Energy, he served as a construction assistant, where he learned the realities of working on tough job sites and the importance of teamwork. Additionally, he assists in managing his family’s rental properties in Costa Rica and Lubbock, Texas. These responsibilities range from maintenance to customer service, and they have taught him adaptability, commitment, and problem-solving skills. Each job has added to his knowledge and strengthened his determination.
Service is another area where Coleman has invested time and effort. He has participated in mission trips and volunteer projects that focus on supporting communities. Through UMARMY, he worked on construction projects to improve homes and neighborhoods. At a women’s shelter, he helped build a children’s library designed to serve families in need. In Costa Rica, he volunteered with Cepia, a nonprofit dedicated to education and cultural development. These experiences reinforced for him that service is a privilege, one that connects directly to the compassion and responsibility he grew up with.
Family remains central to Coleman’s life. His creativity and persistence come from generations before him, and his dog, Lola, is always a steady companion—whether working on the ranch, fishing by the water, or simply resting at home. Family and friends provide him with balance, reminding him of what matters most as he pursues his goals.
Coleman has also created a digital presence to share his music and personal projects. His website, colemancreed.com, along with YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, enables him to connect authentically with his audiences. These platforms provide an outlet for his creativity while still allowing him to reflect his true self.
Today, Coleman continues to balance his trade career aspirations with his love for music. He is committed to graduating in 2026 and starting work as an electrician, while also writing songs, playing guitar, and performing when possible. He believes both paths can coexist—one offering stability and the other fueling creativity.
Looking to the future, Coleman envisions a life built on both effort and imagination. Whether on stage, on a job site, or surfing in Costa Rica, he carries with him the values of family, hard work, and the outdoors. His story is still unfolding, but it is guided by authenticity, determination, and purpose.
