My name is Joan Lewis . I am a Southern University Graduate. My degree is in Political Science. I started my writing career in high school. I wrote my first poem "Liberation" and I recited before my senior class. I went on to enter it in to an online poetry website that awarded me with a semi-finalist award. I entered college as a non-tradtional student after my second child was born. My first year English professor would site me for being descriptive. Her praise encouraged me ,I have since written two books and a book of poems. I am in the process of publishing. I chose Hub pages to share insights my writing style here is mostly reflective. I do some self help. I am enjoying the opportunity to share what i have learned.
