Deborah achieved an Honours B.A. in Social Sciences, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, graduating with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Sociology. McMaster University is part of the U15, a group of Canadian universities renowned for their scholarly research, and is distinguished qualitatively as an Ivy League University. The Religious Studies Degree program at McMaster University is the 'Harvard' of Religious Studies Degrees. While studying at McMaster University, Deborah won a noteworthy Award, the Betty Lou Lee, Zonta International Award, for high academic average.
After graduating from McMaster University Deborah achieved a Masters in Counseling Science, Counselor Training Institute (Vancouver, B.C., Canada), as recognized by the A.A.M.F.T., American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
In her work as a Holistic Life Coach, Deborah has assisted many people to enhance their clarity, peace of mind, and begin their next steps in transforming life for the better.
Early on in her career she completed an E.C.E., Early Childhood Education Diploma (Mohawk College, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada), and was professionally employed for many years as a Preschool Teacher/Specialist and Parent Consultant.
Deborah received The Hamilton Wentworth Board of Education Volunteer Award, in recognition of her volunteer work in the Speech & Articulation Modification Program, with primary school children who have Speech and Language challenges.
Additionally, Deborah received Certification as a Yoga and Meditation Instructor, Val Morin, Quebec, Canada, having the rare good fortune to be taught in person directly by the legendary, world-renowned, Yoga and Meditation Master Swami Vishnudevananda. Throughout the years she has taught Yoga and Meditation to all age groups from preschoolers to seniors.
She successfully held the positions of Social Convener and Vice President for the Tower Poetry Society, the first and foremost poetry society in North America, which originated at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Deborah is a member of the Visionary Fiction Alliance, a group formed to promote Visionary Fiction books for Authors and Readers.
Deborah is an Honorary Life Member of the ALL Ladies League - ALL, the world's largest ALL - inclusive international women's chamber for the Welfare, Wealth, and Well-Being of ALL.
She has written numerous published articles on a variety of topics from natural therapies to peace, yoga, philosophy, psychology, and metaphysics. Furthermore, Deborah is the author of a number of multi-genre published books – poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
Most importantly, Deborah is a proud mother and grandmother. She has always encouraged Authenticity, Creativity and Compassion in her family. She dedicates the entire collection of her writing to the betterment of humanity, and peace on Earth in general. and to the well-being of her cherished children and grandchildren in particular.
Deborah describes herself as firstly a devoted mother and grandmother, and secondly just a humble wordsmith, contemplating life and enjoying the journey.
