Joined 11 years ago from Philippines
I enlisted in the U.S. Navy when I was 17 years old. I served half my career in the Navy. I was in a Light Bomber/fighter aircraft squadron. I was stationed on two different aircraft carriers and also served under the United States Marine Corp (MAG-12) Group in Japan. I then transfered to the Naval Test and Evaluation Center and worked on Navy's 3 different version prototypes of the Blackhawk. Also I worked on the first production model of the Coast Guard helicopter. Before signing my orders for my next station in Guantamo Bay, Cuba I was approached by the Coast Guard to refuse my orders and exit the Navy to enlist in the Coast Guard. Thus bringing my knowledge to excelerate the program. In turn I was promoted and got my aircrew wings allowing me to enter into the most rewarding job I ever had.
I was Married was I was 18. My bride endured the pain of being a military wife. But while serving in Kodiak Alaska doing helicopter search and rescue she seem to break. Alaska is the STAR of search and rescue because it is the MOST dangerous. Housing was close to the runway. So at 3 in the morning when I took off in a blinding snow storm my wife would know I may not be coming back. When my tour was complete the Coast Guard asked me to stay another tour. I wanted to stay, she fell apart. So we left. I finished up my career in the lower 48 states. We divorced after 25 years.
I have a degree in computer science and worked for a Office furniture company called Herman Miller as a computer troubleshooter. After 8 years working I divorce. 2 years later I sold everything and moved to the Philippines to find a wife. (That is a whole other story)
