About me - My Life
I've lived alot of life in my youth. Its a classic story of growing up faster than your age. I've seen and experienced things a child shouldnt have to. Finding my way through the fog has been a difficult ride, and an awesome one all in the same. Its these existing shadows that make me the strong, loving person I am today.
By the time I was 18, I had attended at least 20 funerals. From a father single handedly holding his 1 month old son's casket, to elderly loved ones and sensless deaths. Have you ever watched someone on their death bed take their last jolting breath, and inside you feel relieved they wont suffer anymore from the cancer thats eating them away, and just about when your going to let your tears fall in saddness, they inhale another breath? Relivng that feeling a few moments later, you hope selfishly that this time, they are really not gone, but they are. I learned the "Our Father" prayer, not from sunday service, but from attending funerals - isnt that odd? Being exposed to so much death and loss, I've learned to embraced life and its promise.
I married young. Had the great job, house, 4 cars and 2 kids at 23yrs old. How many 23yr olds can you say are that accomplished these days? (side note..we need to promote that) I was proud. But I also didnt do it alone. Then comes the decision making based on the best interests of the new loves of my life, my children. I left their father, my husband, best friend, my first love. Not easy, but possible. Life does commence beyond loves fierce grip. Oh that was a fun 10yr ride. Heart plunging relationships followed. GREAT memories were created. Alot of lessons were learned.
The most wonderful part of me, would have to be my friends and family. Good Lord I dont know what I would do without them. My babies - they can be 200yrs old, and still, they are my babies. They are unpredictibly funny, intelligent, little people, with morals and manners. My greatest accomplishment in life, is becoming a mother, and I thank them everyday for making me a mother. Yes, making - they teach me. My siblings...There are 4 of us. Im the oldest, then there is a sister, brother, then another sister... pheww... The founder of this ever expanding quartet (there are 6 grandchildren between us), is this extremely amazing woman we tend to call mom (depending on what we want right? haha). Theres a sperm donor out there in Arizona (last I heard) who contributed to the begining of this powerful legacy. He participated in, oooh, maybe a decade or so of our lives... But this Mom gal is a great one I tell ya. Read what I wrote in "My Mom"... you'll see what I mean. We have an unbelivable unity she enforced. We fight, and we cry, and we laugh to no end, but one thing is for sure, we love eachother very much.
My best friends. I have 2 best friends, both I've known for about 16yrs. Our relationship has progressed throughout the years into a sisterhood. We dont share the same blood, but I dont feel it any different. We have a mutual respect and unconditional love for one another. We trust eachother, and understand that regardless of our opinion about our actions or thoughts, we have eachothers back. Im fortunate to have met them. They are definately the type of friends that exceed the definition of friendship by all means.
My friends. There are so many people who have touched my life and have helped me develop as a person. Especially those "reality check" friends... despite me wanting to hear it, I need to. I have those friends I can cry to, be my dorky self around.. great people. After many years you tend to find that people will come and go, and those who are still around- they know what we have, and I try to make it a point to let them know they are in my heart.
