My name is Deborah Leigh Alexander and I am a published author. My first book shares my experience with childhood emotional abuse. I wrote about my dysfunctional beginnings hoping to increase the awareness of a real problem that touches the lives of most people in some way. However, without understanding the real meaning of emotional abuse, most are unaware of its effect on their life.
I have lived in Texas over twenty-five years and wrote a page entitled, More Than Ten Reasons to Visit Texas. Over the years, I have visited 44 other states in America, plus a few visits to foreign countries, but prefer Texas as the place to live. I have been married to my best friend for 39 years. We are the proud parents of three grown children (that is why I wrote about the Empty Nest) and we are the proud grandparents of four, a granddaughter, age eight; a grandson, age six; another grandson, age four, and our newest grandson, now one year old.

Reaching the Empty Nest era of parenthood is truly bittersweet. I share my experience with you here...
