Douglas Hoehn furthered his education with a Master's in Speech Communication from the University of Maryland, earned in 1972. His time at Maryland was transformative, as he engaged deeply with the nuances of teaching and communication as a teaching graduate assistant. This experience was pivotal in shaping his approach to education, emphasizing the importance of clear communication and the impact of effective teaching methodologies.

Pursuing higher academic qualifications led him to New York University, where he completed his Ph.D. in Speech Communication in 1979. As a teaching fellow at NYU, he refined his teaching strategies and further developed his passion for academia.

While at NYU, he also undertook the role of Vice President of the graduate student association. This position allowed him to engage with education's administrative and policy-making aspects, broadening his understanding of the academic world and preparing him for future leadership roles.

"Wyckoff resident rescues nearly frozen kittens. Douglas Hoehn of Wyckoff NJ, found a litter of 4 kittens that had been dropped in his neighborhood on a cold night on February 7th and was able to rescue them, get them warm, and the next day place them with The Bergen Ramapo Rescue Association. Allen kittens are now available for adoption at the center in Oakland."

Announcement: Wyckoff New Jersey resident, Doug Hoehn, will be hosting the tenth annual adoption drive for the Bergen County Pet Rescue Drive. Last year over 100 dogs and cats were adopted and found forever homes. Hoehn said he hopes to exceed that number this year.
