Dr. Seth A. Eidemiller is a board-certified emergency physician whose path began on a fourth-generation dairy farm in Idaho. His early experiences in agriculture, wildfire suppression, and construction shaped his approach to work and service. After completing degrees in International Studies and Spanish, he took the next steps toward a medical career, entering medical school in Nevada and later training in Fresno. He is now Vice Chair of the Chico Emergency Medicine Physician Group.
His educational journey started at the University of Idaho, where he finished two bachelor’s degrees. He then returned to Boise to take required courses in laboratory sciences. During this time, he worked as a lab instructor, managing lab operations, which provided him with a solid foundation in chemistry and biology. He also spent three years involved in biomedical research, focusing on human health and systems biology.
Before pursuing a career in medicine, he gained practical skills in multiple industries. He worked with the U.S. Forest Service as a wildland firefighter, developing an understanding of teamwork and safety in high-risk situations. Time in construction taught him carpentry, electrical work, and other residential building tasks. Restaurant work offered lessons in customer service and working efficiently under pressure.
He began medical school at the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2012, rotating through clinics and hospitals across the state. He gained exposure to pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery, and general medicine. After graduating in 2016, he matched into the emergency medicine residency at UCSF-Fresno, one of the busiest training environments in California. There, he developed skills in airway management, line placement, and bedside ultrasound.
During and after his residency, he worked at Mercy Medical Center in Merced and later joined the Chico Emergency Medicine Physician Group in 2020. His role expanded to include oversight of scheduling, staff support, and operational logistics, which led to his appointment as Vice Chair in 2024. He continues to care for patients and guide the physician group’s operations.
Dr. Seth Eidemiller maintains board certification and a California medical license and is fluent in Spanish. Outside work, he cycles, volunteers, cooks, and manages home projects. Dr. Seth’s steady focus and communication continue to shape his practice and service to others.
