Was born in Alexandria, LA in 1974
Dad got a military contractor job with EG&G working at the infamous Area 51 and we moved to Indian Springs, NV in 1978.
In 1984 my parents bought property on Mount Charleston, NV and we moved from the desert to Nevada's version of the Swiss Alps. I grew up at '8500 on a mountain with a peak height of almost '13,000. Probably the best place in the world for an adventurous Type A kid to grow up. The elementary school I attended was so small that grades 1-3 filled one room and 4-6 the other. During winter we had so much snow we didn't get normal outside recess or PE so once a week our entire school got to go skiing for a day.
I had an interesting childhood to say the least...
I grew up hiking, climbing, exploring, camping, skiing, snowboarding (probably one of the first), mountain biking, shooting, hunting, driving, riding... things that most kids today that grow up in cities never get to experience on a day to day basis.
My dad was also a Class III militray and law enforcement firearms dealer. So I grew up around and learned naturally about all types of firearms, and even used to help the Las Vegas Metro Swat team with scenario training at their "Kill-House."
I moved to Reno, NV in 1994 to attend college at the University of Nevada Reno. Quickly got hired on at a ski resort as a "lifty" and then later as an instructor in both skiing and snowboarding.
Just after college I bought a motorcycle and that started a multi-year passion to try and perfect the art of riding a sport bike as fast as humanly possible, safely... Sometimes that didn't work out so well but I always got back on the horse. So many track days and races later I finally washed that illness out of my system (not entirely)
Went to work for Porsche Cars North America for a short while and that got my interest peaked in cars. So I spent lots of time and money, especially the later, trying to perfect the art of driving a car as fast as humanley possible. After riding bikes it didn't seem so difficult and WAY safer... just WAY more expensive.
Went to work a few years later in the heavy equipment industry and ended up being a region fleet manager for a Fortune 500 company here in the US. Here is where I honed my business management and analysis skills.
So needless to say I'm a plethora of useless and sometimes useful information. I'm an avid reader and researcher. I have lots of experience in the great outdoors and with survival skills. I have lots of experience with firearms of all types. I have lots of experience with Ducati Sport bikes and riding. I have lots of experience with Japanese & German Sports cars and driving skills. I have lots of experience with heavy equipment sales and fleet analysis. I have lots of experience with business management and people management.
So this HUB could be filled with just about anything...
