It's never easy as often the best choice is the most expensive but in the end you need to be realistic about where your child will be the most successful.

While difficult at times though children with disabilities that have a gifted older siblings are more likely to reach higher levels of success. As in the beginning years especially they want to follow their older sibling's lead and in turn they do often achieve more.

Without having a true APE Teacher in each building it truly makes it harder for the student to accept the need of service especially if they are included in regular Gym Class too as having to see their Gym teacher twice can bring so much confusion and frustration.
Traditional APE Teachers truly do such incredible work and know how to bring out the best in their students. Regrettably not every school has them on staff and in my personal opinion this has a lot of negatives especially for the students with hidden handicaps.
Far too often students with Learning Disabilities pick colleges that don't offered enough academic, personal, and social and with a little more research and knowledge this could change and I believe would increase the graduation rates..
While Many Students With Learning Disabilities and disabilities like Autism start college may never finish for a variety of reasons. The most common appears to be choosing a college with just basic support which isn't enough for many students with disabilities.. .
Whether you have live will always bring it is own positives and negatives as there is never a perfect situation.

Choosing the right amount of support services can always be a challenge so it is so important to understand what areas you need the most direct instruction. As the truth is socialization with your peers is so important too!
Students with an NVLD can have too much support at times and hopefully these piece can help you understand there are ways to have less.

Growing up I was blessed with such wonderful support.It truly increase my self-esteem and to become a huge believer of inclusion as I could see I was more alike then different. I hope more can understand important support is and how doing the journey alone makes everything harder.

As a graduate of Dean and Curry College I was blessed to receive such incredible support Especially at Dean as our program Director Dr. Anne Smith was beyond incredible to not just me but all students in the Arch Program!
